Hi the reason being that I have not used my C licence much is purely and simply that I do not want to do class C work.
Im running around in my current job delivering up 100 odd steps to some customers and truth be told I have had enough.
What I am really trying to say is that I want an easier life.
Thanks Thomas

Thanks the only reason that I have stayed with Tesco is because I wanted to pass my C+E then look for a C+E job as class C does not interest me
Thanks again Thomas
Can’t really fathom your logic pal, for a start do you not think that some Class C work would good initial experience?
When you failed your C+E, can you say that your lack of being familiar with driving Class C had no bearing?
Do you think C+E employers are going to have reservations about your complete lack of experience on anything other than VANS?
As for the wages, that’s a no brainer…
Thanks Evil not at all I have done a bit of class C work when I have been on holiday.
The reason I failed was purely a bad judgement call I overtook a reversing vehicle.
I am hoping to be able to get in somewhere that accepts a new starter.
As said before class C has never appealed to me.
If the worst came to the worst I would consider class C work but truth be told I am scared of getting stuck in a rut just like I am at the moment.
The thing is I am willing to travel anywhwere for class C+E work.
Thanks again Thomas
In your shoes with an HGV licence I wouldn’t be driving vans for that money. You can’t hate rigids that much otherwise you’d not have done the licence right? Anyway do you dislike the work that much that earning 900 a month is more important? You’re stuck in a rut anyway, may as well be a better earning rut whilst you save for artic licence. Not all work is that bad on rigid, fridge maybe?
Re rigid experience. I don’t think class C driving experience helped me with artic that much. I was more current on training standards straight after C. I still would’ve had to learn the exact same bits and bobs on the job no matter which I did. I did a bit of rigid work before doing artic, but ideally would’ve gone straight to CE. Just couldn’t afford it at the time

.■■? Why oh why ! I do cat c work and it’s a lot easier than what your doing , not all cat c is hard graft work
Tom, class 2 work isn’t all bad, Dominoes, Bidvest, Brakes etc can be a PITA, I’m surprised some of the drops don’t get you to cook the bloody stuff as well [emoji57] but there’s loads of other sectors, Tippers, Pallet Work, Skips/Rollons/Dustcarts, Small shop deliveries, Milk, Gas even your local Jewsons/Travis P/Burdens/Builders Merchants might not pay top dollar, but they’ll be a lot easier than lugging Groceries around for middle class Hooray Henry’s & Henrieyeta’s.
Most of us on here would have started out on Rigids then found it easier to get used to Artics, I know I did.

C work would double your take home, given the right employer.

As above I need to buck my ideas up and pass the C+E.
I have rebooked it after my fail but I really need to get it done.
I absolutely hate my job and when it feels like you are there all the time. Well 6 days a week.
I checked my wages for the 4 weeks and I come out with £917.00 take home.
It makes it feel like it’s not worth it.
This wage includes a pay rise aswell.
So I need to pass my C+E and start looking for a new job.
In the grand scheme of things I want to buy myself a house but I cannot even think about it on these piddling wages.
Sorry for the rant it’s just I work my arse off for this place and only coming out with that amount of money seriously irks me.
You’ve come onto an LGV forum
You’ve got an LGV licence but don’t want to use it
You drive vans and earn sweet FA
You’ve got an LGV licence but still don’t want to use it
You’re still driving vans and earning sweet FA
You want to spend more money on yet another LGV licence for the mantel piece.

Sorry. What was the question?
You have misunderstood, I have done C work while on my holiday.
Unlike you where you think it is clear cut it isnt.
I have to pay my way in life and after passing my C licence I went round looking for a job and the only place that got me any work was an agency all the other people would not even want to speak to me when I turned up.
My parents cannot afford to keep me for free so I have to earn some money to live and as Tesco is a safe place to work IE not easy to get sacked I have stayed there until I pass my C+E.
I have struggled to save up for these lessons and if I did quit Tesco then with the work I have been able to garner through agency then I wouldnt have enough to cover my monthly bills.
Id rather stay where I am and even if it is class C then get a job before I quit.
Are you not tied to Tescos if they put you through the C&E ? I know most places have you ■■■■■■■ where if you leave in a certain period after passing you have to pay the C&E training expenses back.
Think you’ve had some good advice here. Personally I’d go get a Class C job purely so you get (1) experience driving a larger vehicle amongst today’s ignorant, no patience car driver (2) using a tachograph. A lot of people struggle with this especially manual entry’s.

I have paid for this out of my own pocket so I am not tied to anyone, sorry for the confusion
