Don’t turn this into yet another ‘flashing in’ thread specifically as they are getting boring now, it’s more about crap driving and lack of consideration to other truckers.
But to you smart arsed ■■■■■■■ s (you know who you are) that don’t need that flash because as you keep telling us ‘‘you know exactly where the back of your trailer is’’ can you please count to 3 after you think ‘‘you know etc etc’’ because in reality you don’t bloody know where it is, and I am getting severely ■■■■■■ off with getting rudely awakened (quite often these days) after you NEARLY overtake me, and having to brake hard and/or swerve in order to keep both my mirrors and the front of my cab.
It happened again on the M6 just this morning…,( and just to add insult to injury it was a bloody Stobart.
)
Anything else, or most stuff I can take in my stride in a professional way, but this makes me want to catch up with whoever it is and rip their ■■■■ head off.
Most of us better drivers also do not NEED a flash, but wait for one as an indication that the truck you are overtaking is comfortable with the space you leave, those that do not flash (and I couldn’t give a rat’s ■■■ if you do or don’t) I over compensate for the distance I leave. It’s one of the many things that seperates the drivers from you ■■■■ whits

Couldn’t agree more +1
I don’t bother flashing on the motorway anymore.
Hefty fine. Plus it was a cold day and an old woman shouted through her window " Put your acorn away".
Not spoke to my Mum since.
+2 robroy. I must be developing the right traits for this game cos im only 10 months into the artics, and i wish i
d posted that!
eagerbeaver - …as always! (you goon!)
I flash everyone in, not everyone thanks me though
That’s cos you drive a van radar. But you will be in the club soon buddy!

Do not lump me in with those clowns, I’ve had enough of white van morons. I drive a truck, yes it may be small(er) but its still a truck dammit!

Big pet hate that, lack of manners
I agree, I’m quite new to Artics and I get very nervous when someone cuts in just in front of me. I keep thinking if he hit something ahead that I can’t see (because he’s so close), I don’t think I could stop in time to avoid my own accident.
I too, always flash overtakes to let them know I’m comfortable with the gap, I agree you might not need to be told you’re clear, but it’s simply good manners to others.
I remember reading a thread on here about 6 months ago, where the poster complained about the ’ dancing indicators’ when people say thanks, I’ve got to say that I feel a sense of camaraderie when we exchange these gestures.
Gosh such drama
FalconSteve-That post was from good old Digit. A chap so ridiculous that I was starting to warm to him.

I would agree with this, but there isn’t much that overtakes me.
Seriously though, it shows a lack of respect as it is not just can you stop, but what you are carrying too.
I’ll always flash a fellow driver back in are being overtaken when:
I feel there’s a safe enough gap between us
Or
On say dual carriageway, mid overtake an ambulance or such like appears behind with blue lights, I’ll ease right off and give someone a flash to get them out of the way even if it does sit them right in front of me.
I’ll never flash an overtaken back in when level with an on ramp sliproad, always wait till the entry finishes before I do. I did it once when it was clear, and then this white bmw came onto the motorway at the speed of light and almost ended up under the truck.
When I’m overtaking, I’ll always wait for a flash, if I don’t get one I’ll stick my left indicator on and wait a few seconds for one. If I don’t get one by then I’ll assume it’s someone who can’t be arsed and just move over.
Always give a few left, right , left, right on the indicators as a thanks. As someone above has said, I feel a slight feeling of comradarie when you get an indicator dance off someone.

I think 2 years ago I unwittingly started one of those infamous flashing-in threads. Having dabbled in driving briefly after a 10 year break I was suprised no one flashed in anymore and no one thanked me when I flashed them in. Naturally, onto Trucknet to ask! I got my head chewed off for asking . Everyone knows where their trailer ends I was told. I gathered on the road, 50 percent don’t, 40 percent do but don’t care and the remaining 10 percent were the ones posting on trucknet as they left a nice gap without flashing.
If they dont flash you in bang the hazards on for a few seconds ,that gets um thinking whats up,its usually stobart agency men dragging a tesco small trailers with loads of dints in the drivers door ,thick specs, smoking a role up,wearing a minging hivis vest ,mismatch uniform with flashing blue earpiece talking to 13yr old tingtong in the back of beyond

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; DON’T RUN ON YOUR LIMITER.
I’m limited to 90kmph but cruise at 85kmph. If anybody cuts my nose off, it’s usually because they’re limited to 85.1kmph and they’ve taken all week to almost overtake me.
Leave it a minute and then power past them.
They know what they’ve done and they’ve mistakenly thought there was nothing you could do about it.
Wrong!
The look on their face as you effortlessly glide past them is priceless.
Return the favour with pinpoint precision and then return to your new revised crusing speed of 85.1kmph.
I am very old school. Flashing in was to say “You are clear to come back in”.
Now it seems that you have to stick on Left indicator to ASK if you are clear, even if you know that you are
Too many steering wheel attendants on the roads these days, probrably think their driving a car and don’t give toss about anyone else. I don’t flash anyone in anymore saves getting worked up about it.
Still give a double tap of the indicator if someone flashes me in though.
Like I said in my o/p it doesn’t matter a ■■■■ who does or doesn’t flash in, I don’t care, it’s up to you.
I was more concerned about those that are blissfully unaware, that despite what they claim, they regularly display the fact that they are actually unable to judge a safe distance to pull back in, and how much they ■■■■ the rest of us off.
As Freight dog said usually on these threads you get the ‘‘I don,t need, because I know etc’’ ■■■■■■■■, but strangely not this one , …there must be some of you guys on here, you aint usually so shy, or have you all suddenly got the message at last.
