I was going up the A43 from Corby towards the A1, doing 40 and as i went round a left hand bend, i saw an artic coming the other way, with a car half way passed him probably about a few hundred feet away…I slammed the brakes on and kaked myself. I thought, o ■■■■…Managed to get down to 15 mph, and the other artic slowed right down, the car never at any point attempted to brake to go behind the artic he just kept coming…He just about got passed and i missed him by inches…He got a long toot as he went passed, hopefully realising how close he came to killing himself and possibly me and the other trucker…
Fair play to him he kept his foot in it.
Only joking, it’s just another idiot on the road, what gets me is if you had been doing 45-50 and had a head on, it would be all your fault. Can’t win really.
It would have been my fault for speeding yep. however, they can’t do a dead man…And to be honest, had he hit me, i think it would have been certain death for him, and at the very least, serious injury for me, and possibly the other trucker too

Yes that’s what I mean, he would have been dead either way but had you been going 5mph over the speed limit it would have apparently been all your fault and not for the fact that the idiot was on the wrong side of the road overtaking on a blind bend.
I watched a car do that trick on the road out of Windermere today, I don’t know how much he missed the on coming car by but it wasn’t a lot, and the Scania he was passing nearly went off the road to try and give him room!

its like the numpty in the truck behind me going between st neots and cambridge today, ive got to stick to 40 as im fitted with truck cams so if the ■■■■ hit the fan at least i know they can not say im speeding, except the truck behind decided he wanted to sit up my arse and kept swinging out to overtake. then i watched him go up a 7.5 tonne weight limit as i turned of.

This is a PERFECT example of people who use their rear view mirror only and not their wing mirrors. You would be surprised how many people don’t actually use their wing mirrors at all. Frightening.

Done well swerving that one happens to me almost daily there is no need for it apart from ignorant drivers who don’t use there mirrors or just think sod him he can break, sometimes I really feel like the next person to do that to me is getting it I’m fed up off braking/swerving for them now!
on Tuesday i was on the M18, just by junc 3, a police car, plain white with Police on the rear bumper, no blue lights came flying passed me, straight across the front and over the chevrons to get off a j3…so much for advanced drivers

No need to cross chevrons unless some muppet pulls into your path, the same muppet that probably uses that slip every day and knows that there’s always a queue for the w/b slip and would’ve been in the wrong lane anyhow for the A642 that she eventually took towards Rothwell.

Correct, however using initiative to make progress and to avoid unnecessary, dangerous queuing in a live lane, combined with a 4.2m high, 2.5 m wide, 13.6m long bright orange truck running with dipped beam at less than 40, as well as the queue being to the far left and other traffic having passed on the right, was it not a reasonable manouver and a tad unreasonable for the red and the silver car to just hope nowt was coming down their offside?

What’s even more of a joke than that car pulling out is that there are people on here who think you was in the wrong for going over the chevrons and these blokes probably drive trucks as well!!! Unreal.

it’s crazy, I’m a passenger quite a lot on the weekends when I’m going out or in a cab etc and I hate to be so ■■■■ but the standard of driving by the general public is terrible.

Too much common sense mate - you won’t last here
This is precisely the reason why I don’t go over 40 on a single. I was involved in a fatal in my car in 2004 and whilst it wasn’t my fault, driver with no licence pulled across me on a duel, it’s a horrible few months with it hanging over your head to be cleared. And like fb said, 5mph over and it’s all your fault
