Nearly filled my pants today

degsy4wheels:
I was going up the A43 from Corby towards the A1, doing 40 and as i went round a left hand bend, i saw an artic coming the other way, with a car half way passed him probably about a few hundred feet away…I slammed the brakes on and kaked myself. I thought, o [zb]…Managed to get down to 15 mph, and the other artic slowed right down, the car never at any point attempted to brake to go behind the artic he just kept coming…He just about got passed and i missed him by inches…He got a long toot as he went passed, hopefully realising how close he came to killing himself and possibly me and the other trucker…

Bad road for that, lots of bends, not a lot of places u can help a car get by,impatience eventually gets the better of them, had a few close calls going across there

I get the same most nights on the A15 from Lincoln to the M180. I stick to the 40 mph limit for the following reasons:

1 - It’s the law
2 - It is not the best or widest road in the world (Single all the way I am going)
3 - I am never in that much of a hurry
4 - As I am carrying a lot of explosive LPG I would like to still be alive when I finish.

I always have cars on my rear end weaving and a few times have HGV’s doing the same.

Clearly the 40 mph doesn’t apply to them.

The good news is… your horn works wonderfully

it most certainley does…

You would be surprised how many people don’t actually use their wing mirrors at all. Frightening.

A young lady passed me on the motorway the other day completely oblivious to the fact that both her mirrors were folded in. I really wanted to slap some sense into her.

Should be 3 points for each folded in mirror.

Whats wrong with that, it aids in fuel economy and saves the baby seals.
