I’m still wondering whether they used to send Chris’s mate Barry Ireland to Baglan Bay regular on purpose
Andy,I don’t think Barry Ireland ever got as far as Baglan Bay or Barry Island even,he weren’t with us long.
I once met a driver called Chris Webb and he told me the story of how a huge shard of glass gave him a nasty scar on the top of his head. Is it the same Chris Webb as on this forum?

We have a Nigel Holmes and we call him Sherlock.
In the 80’s I worked with a bloke called John Barton at Wreford’s Transport Northampton. He was affectionately know as ■■■■ BARTON SPECIAL AGENT. There was a PA system in the yard and the TM used to call the drivers into the office using it. I still remember him saying; “Special agent, traffic office please. We have a mission for you”. John is still driving for Wreford’s and to this day everyone knows him as ■■■■.

Hi truckerash,I found a picture of a Granada estate which belonged to Mr Wreford which I bought off David Rogers in the 80s,it was fitted out with securing gear for his kids grass track m/bikes,I expect theyve grown out of them now. Also in pic is a DAF2800 we used for runs into Benelux towing the fridge its attached to.The driver, the great Tom Barrett became a few years later chauffeur to Shakin Stevens.I overnighted once at Immediates in Colnbrook and rang Barrett to go for a pint,he collected me in the roller then picked Shaky up and we adjourned to Harefield WMC for a session.Shaky ended up calling the bingo numbers to all the old dears whilst performing his dance routine.Great night but bigheadache in morning.
i used to drive for a bloke in crewe called ben dover ,sound lad

Worked with a chap at Winerite called Noel Coward,a real Gent.
