£8 ph for every hour worked inc Saturdays, Sundays and BH. Also ZERO hour contract so if there is no work its no pay! He also pays off the tracker and will not pay the driver for his legal walk round check as he’s not started his day yet, until you move it’s no pay!
Very poor and a huge turnover in drivers.
All the above is FACT.
That is what you get if you want to work for our ethnic friends.
Just saw that Coombe Valley in Dover are looking for a Class 1 driver paying £6.40 per hour !!
Their trucks are all heaps and do mostly traction work so no trailers to maintain.Someone high up must be on a good wage …
There are far to many driver chasing too few jobs which will drive down the rate
6 year ago my then boss was being pain the same rate as 1 of the O/D was 20 year previous but he had higher overheads by then with raising fuel prices raising road tax etc
E.S.L!!! eddie stobart limited! As it’s now a P.L.C? And William can’t get rid of his flunkys on the board I’ve not had a pay rise for five years! 71 hrs Monday to Friday and if your interested 13 hrs sat! roll up roll up 84 hrs no thank you very much! Too many long days and if you run out of hours? Sorry I meant WHEN YOU’RE PLANNED OUT OF HOURS they take too long to pick you up! The Richard Head who doubles up as a operations manager at Appleton even has a book for you to sign once you get back to retrieve your vehicle! 19 hour shifts no problem! wonder what vosa would think about that of they read it! IN BLACK AND WHITE lads!!!
No overtime = no incentive to give up my days off for nothing! I’ve five kids, go fishing, watch the football and get bladdered at weekends! And that’s how I’m free to dispose of my time away from cab hotel which is on bed mode on the digi! Lol
We all know E.S.L. is Eddie Stobart Limited, the thing that puzzles me is who do you work for?
Clearly, I’d guess not the Green gestapo - we had a pay rise recently…
As for the long hours, if you want them, they are there - is long hours not part & parcel of this job? - as for the long days for those who don’t want them, in my experience, you simply say “No” (or words to that effect) and generally, you won’t get the absurd hours.
In this day & age, I am a: happy to have a job, b: happy to have the chance of hours & c: mad to do this job like the rest of us!!!
This lot advertise almost constantly. I wonder why?
