This thread has certainly attracted, and shown up who the knobs impersonating pro drivers amongst us are by their comments on here, I’d like to think they aint being entirely serious but having met more and more of them on the road on a daily basis, I’m not convinced.

There was a question in there? Looked more like a simple dose of good old verbal diarrhoea to me. Then again, the near total absence of any punctuation means you could have hidden a whole question-and-answer session in there and no-one would have been any the wiser (hint: You may know what you intend to write, but a few full stops and capital letters make it an awful lot easier for everyone else to understand what you are saying - think of it as common courtesy, if you like 
).

I’v never been guilty of ‘keeping’ anybody in the outside lane, if someone chooses to jump into the outside lane knowing they’ll be there for miles, thats their business.
I’ll keep it cruising at the current speed, places to be etc!

Yeh, because it’s really gonna hold you back if you back off a couple of clicks eh mate? and anyway, if you think the guy pulling out is in the wrong, and he may well be who knows who cares, so why not show him how you are more responsible and professional than him, instead of acting like an arse, and prolonging the problem,… ffs

So maintaining a steady speed is acting like an arse? These guys get themselves out there,so let them carry on & deal with the ‘problem’ they’re causing.
Some so called pro drivers think the rest of the road should work around them, you sound like one of them! I don’t expect special treatment when I’m driving, if I think I can’t get past another truck, I won’t sit in the outside lane like a idiot for 5 miles!

Couldn’t give a toss what I sound like to you mate to be quite honest, but if we are giving opinions of each other you sound a bit like the self righteous " I’m OK so ■■■■ the rest of you" type of “driver” that unfortunately for the rest of us, have increased over the last few years. Do you not think maybe that we get enough of that sort of treatment from the rest of the public without us displaying this type of bad attitude amongst ourselves? Yeh well for a guy that’s done 20 yrs, I would have thought that you would have had a more professional approach and mature attitude towards your fellow drivers. I am not perfect by any means, but when I was on my 20th year I was at the stage where courtesy and consideration became second nature, but hey, everyones different…apparently!

Yeh good point, but you have the satisfaction of knowing you are the better driver, but if you stop it then it makes you as bad as them, then it’s one more of them and one less of us.

Pete i do the same. It annoys me that they do that. It also annoys me that some drivers do it to prove a point.
Going along the M11 and i reach the bit with the big long hill. A truck makes his attempt to pass me and at this point my truck is starting to get up the hill sticking to 52mph (Limiter) the truck gets level with me still having some distance to get past. I start pulling away so i knock it back 2 mph to 50mph. he is still finding it hard and i am still pulling away and if i keep going slower i will end up causing problems for others who are behind me. little bit further on he gets his trailer wheels level with my cab. He starts with the indicators still going slightly faster then me and then starts to pull in on me missing the front of my truck by inches. I wasn’t happy about it and if he was doing it to prove a point he is playing a stupid game.

Sadly, it is not unbelievable at all. There really are hundreds, more like thousands of so-called professional drivers out there who have exactly the same mindset.

I was heading towards the A34 on the M40 last week, I was empty (low loader) and between Banbury and the A34 exit, and a brit European driver with a 25 ton slew pulled out to overtake, he was making no progress so having read the posts on here and learnt a bit I stopped the cruise control and slowed to let him pass, then he started to slow and slow and when we got to 45mph I overtook him, I could see the hill coming im not sure what engine he thought was between his legs.

If your heavy and you go up a hill then lose you’re momentum then fair enough you shouldn’t be out there in the first place,but ■■■■■ like you,and believe me you are a ■■■■,and balls,to keep it flat to the floor on a D/C whilst someone who’s quicker than you wants to get past when your on the flat then lay off the limiter bell end.
