I’m with Harry on this one. Dri diddley iver, are you perfect? Never break a rule? Ever been to Thurrock or tried parking up down there?
Parked at Thurrock many times, also had to find alternative when I couldn’t get in. Far from perfect but I wouldn’t park illegal and come on here whinging about it
Harry Monk:
Of course, even on a truck drivers’ forum there will always be one truck driver who is fully supportive of this idea.
Couldn’t make it up really
WHERE does it say in any of my posts that I am in support■■? There are a lot of rules and regulations that I don’t agree with but I don’t ignore them. I know of parking places all over the UK and sometimes when I get there I see double yellow lines because someone has decided that they don’t want vehicles parking there any more That includes mine Get over it, grow a pair and move on
The main beneficiaries of industrial estates are normally the local councils. They give planning permission knowing that if all goes well there will be a good income from business rates. The local economy should gain business from the employment generated, and everything in the garden should be rosy, but it isn’t.
One of the main ingredients of any industry is transporting raw materials in and finished products out.
This causes problems because it involves lorries and as we all know, they are never wanted by anyone, anywhere.
If you go to many of the new estates you will find yellow lines, a ban on overnight parking and any other restriction that springs to the minds ofthe local planners or estate owners. The occupiers require transport at all hours of the day and night to fit in with their schedules. It is not always possible to arrive exactly when required, allowance has to be made for delays en route etc. and the attitude at some delivery points that if you arrive late you should be punished.
Until such time as the various organisations accept the fact that the lorry is a neccesity to everyones existence this issue will continue.

I can’t believe some of you on here … There’s too many drivers on this job and indeed on this site who are only too willing to take any injustice dished out to them (of which in this over regulated industry there are too many ) and readily bend over and take it right up their arses, not only that, but even worse, knock someone who has the balls to try and put up a bit of resistance or display of annoyance. Of course parking facilities should be provided, in areas of high truck reliance, you should not have to park miles away, or worse in some craphole lay by just because of authorities who dont want " nasty big juggernauts" spoiling their idyllic environment So nice one Harry! the job needs a lot more of us who are ■■■■■■ off enough with it to show it, the rest of you carry on bending over and brace yourselves
Mate, the only thing I’d comment on there is the bit in red…Thurrock and idyllic environment equals an oxymoron.
Some posters can use a dictionary or ask their mums.
if im thinking about the same road, its a industial estate near Asda/ tilbury docks. their so no road markings just a small sign on the lampposts, the reason the parking was stopped on the estate was shoppers going to asda were complaining about trucks parking on the roads and stopping them from shopping ( dont know how) at asda to the my wonderfull local council stopped all parking.
Be carefull around thurrock as they all want the goods but dont want us truckers around !!
