Who you working with tomorrow nick?
NickW88:
License arrived at 10am. By 11.30 I was signed up with 2 agencies. By 5pm booked in for my first shift tomorrow at 6am. Excited and apprehensive
Nice one pal, hope you have fun!
(Fresh meat for the grinder! )
All the best with it Nick.
Pete
Cheers everybody hopefully it goes a bit smoother this time!
I’m driving for allegro tomorrow, think it’s a merc 18tonner
merc 18tonner
Likely auto or 6 speed. Let us know how you get on.
Pete
It’s an oldie Peter and I believe it’s a 6 speed as mentioned. Hopefully I don’t end up on the news for demolitiong something !
Old is sometimes good - - - I’m proof of that! And I seriously doubt if you’ll have any problem with it.
Pete
In that case Peter old is simply awesome!
Wish I had sorted out my CE but need the money at the minute as I’m thinking and have been honestly warned by the agencies that January will most likely be stagnant for me but we shall see. It’s good to use these 6 ish weeks to get some experience in in the mean time. I know 6 weeks isn’t much but it’s better than nothing
Dead right, 6 weeks is better than nothing. And don’t be surprised if the work does continue into January. This is happening more often each year.
I never encourage folks into debt for CE so you take your time, and when you’re ready, give us a shout. You’ll get 35 hours cpc FREE into the bargain.
Pete
Seeing as it appears Beezle has managed not to destroy Big Beauty I certainly shall be calling upon your services once again next year! Wouldn’t wven consider going anywhere else. At this rate you’ll be needing more staff!
Well tht shift went a bit better than the first. ish. lol
Had a delivery of doors to do to sunny Swansea.I ended up running out of hours on the way home but still had enough duty left to allow me to be chauferred home haha Long day but was good fun all in all. Well apart from my prat nav geting me lost, causing me to run out of time in the end haha. No more work so far this week but hopefuly ill get some next week.
Whoeve designed the seat in a merc axor has clearly never had to actually sit in it

A bit tired mate? Your typing has gone to …
LOL - Lost in Swansea, you should have gone to the DVLA and handed your licence in!
Yes mate, PSTT has survived my attendance unscathed, sort of! And the big MAN was in one piece when i left her…
You’ll love driving her, just wind the sun-blind up, as it swings and bangs on the windscreen!
The seat is OK as well, it just needs to go higher which is the same in my VAN of that make…
Lol didn’t get lost in Swansea I ended up in Birmingham near enough. Stupid thing.

And it took you how long to notice?
- LMFAO
You need to look at a map before you start mate!
It was routing down the a38 then pick up the M6. However when it got me on the M6 after hitting rush hour and everything else it took me up a junction to bring me back and all sorts of crap. Then a bit further on it insisted I try and take a closed road and wouldn’t re route until I got about 30 miles down the road!

LOL - Don’t let RobRoy read that, he’ll be tearing strips off you for following the dumb thing!
Gave me something to do all day lol just glad I didn’t have to use Severn bridge in this weather
I cant stop laughing how did you not realise how far you were heading up north and I thought evil was a bellend Glad you are enjoying it, but blaming the sat nav is that fair now? lol
It was a weird one, it was just trying to route me purely on A Roads. Company I was on for told me to use their sat nav and trust its route so that’s what I did, as apparently it is awesome. It was taking me A38 and then M6, when really I wanted M1 then M42 etc.

Lesson learnt then, look at the route it plots at the start (I assume it initially displays this), and when it draws you a bellend, it’s calling you one!
