You never know Peter. I’m hoping I don’t hate it. Shouldn’t be too hard, just a lot of tight reverses and early hours in city centres haha
They decided for the assessment drive that rather than take me out in a regular bin lorry like I will start off in that I should go out in the 8 legged scania that they use for the ro-ro work. Nobody died and it wasn’t a bad truck to drive, although it did have the turning circle of the titanic and a rather ■■■■ clutch. Was an easy 4 over 4 box, glad I learned in one!
Luckily I will now get to spend the day driving an auto instead, still haven’t driven one in anger yet so should be good fun

I thought it was bad enough being a van driver let alone a smelly one ?!

It could of been worse it could of been a Maritime truck - they must be the slowest trucks in the UK!

I’d be more concerned about driving a VAN for a living…
I quite like driving my vans mate, they never knew wether to pick a gear at a roundabout or leave you looking like a wally and stranded. They tip themselves at the end of the day and if you do what we did twice today you get to see them crush the big 1100l bins when they fall in, twice lol certainly tests the reversing as well. Also around here I’m pretty much getting class 1 money for it so considering I’ve been passed about 6 weeks I’m happy
