Muppet truck drivers

what about the car overtaking fresh air doing 40mph in a 50 and will not move over to lane 1 can i do it then :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Nope you have to set an example, I usually pull over and watch the fun unfold when someone else does it + I don’t need the hassle when theres enough numpties on the road to do it for me.

I also love to undertake the truck that up the arse of this car, makes me laugh everytime…

The first question that springs to mind is why tf would you want/need 16 lights, :unamused:

While doing a driver assessment for a company last week I had to drive to Dublin Port through the Port Tunnel pulling a double Decker trailer. The speed limit through the tunnel is 80km per hr. If you go over this your registration appears on one of the many flashing signs telling you to slow down. So its not the place you get away with speeding during a drivers assessment. On the way back there was this complete gimp pulling a bulk container driving ridiculously close behind me. I maintained my speed and ignored him. However halfway through the tunnel there was a maintenance van pulled in to an approaching lay by. This meant that all the speed limit signs, through this section, had all changed down from 80km per hour to 50km per hour. ■■■■■■■■ behind me had his head so far up my hole he wasn’t able to see the sudden change in the speed limit. I naturally proceeded to lower my speed as requested, also well knowing that Mr Examiner who was sat beside me was waiting to see if I had noticed the change in speed limit.
As I slowed ■■■■■■■■ behind me came within a fraction of hitting me and of course this was all my fault and he was going to let me know about it, the air horn sounded extra loud in the tunnel and his flashing lights extra bright. On the off chance that the ■■■■■■■■ should be on this thread reading about other Muppet drivers. I think its only fair that he should be reminded what a Muppet he himself is. Nice driving you pillock , keep that up and you’ll kill someone some day.

If he is mate you are wasting your time, these guys think that is the proper way to drive a truck, it’s an affront to their manhood if they drive any slower than on the limiter whatever the conditions, we all have to suffer these knobs everyday on the road, and they seem to be increasing.
It’s a well known fact that you can not educate ■■■■■■ pork!

Sometimes it is car drivers fault for pulling in too early after overtaking then slowing down when theres no need. So therefore, pull out to overtake them and the plebs speed up. ■■■■■■■■■■■

A set of roadworks is about the only time you ever see a car in the inside lane. 50 flashes up, ‘‘where is the nearest truck to dive bomb in front of’’ and then they slow up. Happens nearly every time.

Yep common event, had one do it to me but they panicked and went down to 35 I had to anchor up and flash my lights (to tell them i was there of course)… I felt bad afterwards for my lack of awareness and over-reaction but just maybe this car drivers flesh and blood occcupants will realise this is not the best thing to do in the future, or maybe not.

I didn’t bother to pull out as they soon accelerated a bit to 45 ish which was fine for me but just momentarily i thought f-it I’m going to hit this ■■■■ but the paperwork hassle thought stopped me.

Seriously t.w.a.t. is censored- mumsnet or what

bit like the kxxb the other morning when I was overtaking a slow moving crane on the M4 in my wagon, when I looked in my mirror he was about 4 feet off my trailer in his wagon flashing away with his lights, the wagon belonged to S K logistics,as was stated if I had to brake in anyway he would not have been able to avoid rear ending my motor,as you say a muppet, after I pulled in he went by and I gestured to him to use his eyes [I e the crane]and gestured a coffee bean shake

In this situation I find the secondary brake is quite usefull to put some manners on the close following hero (i.e. pull the handbrake lever a bit it won’t show a brake light and will scare the crap out of the bloke behind).
Also the added bonus of they will have so little time to react that their injuries will be substancial.

One to consider for those knob jockeys who like too tailgate, the next bloke your behind might be me…

[Course I would never do this to another damsel of the road as I would need to brake sharply shortly afterwards to show a proper breaking event in case of a phorensic investigation, just knowing the option is available makes me smile and wave apologetically as they fly past].

why not name and shame them on here I had one Friday morning m6 j 19 s bound passed me right on the exit irish plates quin tiles green daf bulker what a ■■■■■■

Two different angles:

A couple of weeks ago on my way back to North Yorkshire, I jumped off the A1 onto the northwardsbound M18. Straight into the roadworks, inside lane 50 mph, and a Rhodes of York artic pulls alongside me in the middle lane, clearly marked at 6’6" maximum width, and sits at the side of me, even matching my speed when I slowed down to let him get as far from me as possible. “Muppet” doesn’t come close to describing the “driver”.

This morning, in my camper van tootling northwardsbound up the A1 near the By of Wether, I move to the outside lane to overtake. In the middle lane is an artic overtaking an artic in the inside lane. Less than 10 feet behind the overtaking artic, matching his 56 mph, is a car towing a wobble box!!!

And will Dipper Dave describe his lorry to us all, please. I for one would rather avoid the gung-ho types that are strangely allowed to drive motor vehicles :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

What about the ones that pull in right behind you while you wait at the lights? Do they really need to be that close to my tailgate?

Why not just concentrate on your own driving instead of critisising others?

I came up with a solution to this problem some time ago! Right… what it is… make lane 1 width restricted to 6’6 instead of lane 3. Leave lanes 2 and 3 normal width and allow HGVs to use lane 3 in roadworks. This would mean that all the cars would be in lanes 1 and 2 doing their usual 45mph with their arses nipping about being caught by SPECS and we could fly past them all in lane 3 with CC set at 50 like we would do if they weren’t getting under our feet in lane 1. Genius!

There is of course the small matter of what to do about motorway junction exit and entries but I’m working on that. :stuck_out_tongue:
