Wes told by about 3 drivers today, worth the over night stop
They all said if you have a meal they dont charge for parking
Any road went in there for a drop of derv on key fuels
did not know how to work the pump so went into the cafe for help
And there it was the owner and his wife working behind the cafe
I asked him for help with the pump and he had tattooed all over his head ‘I hate the English’
He said we dont know how to use it in hear and you need to see one of the boys out side then he said will you be paying for parking tonight sir. he then said its £14 a night but you get your meal with it
Asked if he would take snap and he said no
So after filling up got talking to a guy from the borders Scotty side like
he said he did not pay for his parking and did not know anyone ells who did ever
So gave the site owners the royal toot of the horn as I left and went into the services round the corner
I have never heared of an English man persecuting a scott on English soil before but there could be a first
You know when England are playing or something and you see cars with little England flags stuck to the roof waving in the wind as they drive past
Question. Could I attach some to my lorry while im passing through scotty with out being stopped by VOSA?
Question 2. Could I get a little banner stuck to my grill panel with a cartoon of the battle of hasting with a Night on his horse holding an England flag in one hand and putting a sward through Robert the Bruce in the other?

You’ve never heard of an English man persecuting a Scot? (notice the singular T) Perhaps you need to brush up on things a little.
Do you have “I hate Scots” tattooed on your forehead? Will go great with the huge chip on your shoulder.
Ever thought if the guy in the cafe gave you attitude its maybe YOU who is the problem? Your post certainly comes across as someone with a big attitude problem. If he called you sir it does not sound like HE is the problem here.

You could use Stirling services its signposted from the main Edinburgh ,Glasgow Motorways.Its a bit near home for me so I dont make much use of it.If you are holed up for a few days there is a place called the Peak leasure Centre where there is a multiplex and swimming pool and a NandosThe retail park is down that way as well .I often go to a Morrisons for lunch whenin a strange town ,I think they do good value food.
As an English/Welsh man, ( I never admit i’m English north of the border) I can honestly say that I have parked on Muirpark many times over the years and never paid for parking, yes i do go into the cafe and have a meal, providing the cafe is open when I park up. Over the last few years the cafe has changed hands a few times, some good, some bad, but I would be upset if the cafe closed down Its a truckers cafe and they are getting few and far between so support them, The only problem I have ever had is when I parked near one of Douglasbrae’s trucks with the dead livestock on, the stink was unbearable !!!

Just to keep the history thread within a thread going - One reason that we lost at Hastings was that Harold, having just totally smashed the Vikings at Stamford Bridge, had to march his army down to Hastings to see off the Frogs. He got there in three weeks but outnumbered and pretty exhausted, he lost the battle.

Good line in irony dude! You say you support truckers cafes yet earlier you said that you’d parked at Muirpark many times but had never paid.
One or the other mate, one or the other.
It also says I USE the cafe which I feel is more important, and for the record I could name a few cafes in Scotland who dont bother charging for parking, Muirpark had a history of not charging if you had an evening meal
