I know your pain, I’m really struggling with that side of the job ( mud),I like to keep myself + truck spotless , brings me to near enough tears at times, so Zb disheartnin at times, builders laugh at me trying to clean my truck while they tip it, but I don’t find it funny at all

Our yard is worse than that. Full of mud and puddle filled pot holes. Swamp in the winter, sahara desert in the summer. I’ve got to zig zag my way through it to miss the craters or else my bumper and step on my Actros would be long gone by now. One of our new scanias has its bumper damaged already from going through the holes.[emoji15]
FFS man up. Buy a cheap pair of wellies if it bothers you that much; if you can’t hack a bit of mud stay on the tarmac and do RDC’s.

Behind my trailer was a very large drop and the dozer driver was trying to pull me down it… Foot on brake he was just digging himself a hole but instead of me going backwards it dragged me down’ I was trying to snap the chain!!

I find dozer drivers to be amongst the laziest of plant operators, especially those on tips. All they have to do is push the stuff it’s not like a shovel driver who has to load trucks, clear stockpiles, chase retarded diddycoys around trying to “finda typwun” etc. Tends to be a cantankerous old ■■■■■ job as the younger blokes are out on hire whilst the old timer is shunned by the rest of the quarry. Just in case he starts boring everyone with tales of how he worked for Blackwells on a D8 and box in the winter with no cab on, foreman docking him 1’6 if he stopped for a ■■■■.
