Moving to Ireland

I’m thinking very hard of moving to the north east, around the Wexford area.my parents come from there, and have retired back there some years ago, so i’m over in Ireland quiet alot, and i like what i see, so do the wife and kids. The thing is i only know of Nolan,s from that area, which i have already contacted, with no reply, would anyone know of other haulage company in that area, perhaps our Irish members could help, taking on drivers. Many thanks.

Woodsides or their tanker division “haulage services”

And of course Macburneys as well.

cheers Mike

Mburneys are no where near Wexford, nearest office is in Dublin

Nolans I doubt you will get on for , seem to take on polish guys for obvious reasons however

Your in luck, placed on the 24th March 2006

Click on this link:

then click on ‘Directory’ in the left hand side menu. …then search by category,…Wexford, etc.

I’d have thought of Wexford as the South East myself :stuck_out_tongue: - with somewhere like the Dundalk area being the North East…not that it matters of course…unless you’re a driver with a duff satnav and lots of deliveries still to do on a Friday afternoon…

Hope this helps, :sunglasses:

wow, enough to work on there, great stuff routier, thanks for your hard work, do you live in Ireland?

Unfortunately No, hoping too some day. My family originate from Donegal. I just know alot about Irish Haulage through my former operations and my father who used to work for a lot of Irish companies in his heyday.

Its a grand place to be alright.

Are you based in Ireland now or moving over there ?

Donegal just up the road from me a bit
Lovely part of Ireland :sunglasses:

Hi guy,s , no i,m based in the north west of England nr Liverpool, hopeing to make the move pretty soon. My parents are from there, and since i can remember, while i was growing up, every year we would spend three weeks or so, backhome ,as my parents would say,and now that they have retired “backhome”, i go over quiet a lot. Love it, i’m into the greyhound racing, take after my dad, used to race and train my own, had some minor successes, and i’m at that time of life were i need a new challange, or a new wife, one of the two  , my kids think i’m mad, but love the idea, more space for them. Well today starts stage one of the move, FIND WORK, any advice would be grate, and all the address’s so far are just great, i never thought it would get such a response, it could turn into a soap, so i shall keep you posted, thanks again guy’s

As the owner of an ex-racer I do hope you are not one of those who discard or put down the ‘old-uns’. A more docile, faithful and beautiful pet would be hard to find and at 11 years old she still runs like the wind. But when she feels like it, not me.

Best of luck with the move to Ireland, my son lives in Donegal and if it wasn’t for the weather I’d be there too :unamused: .

good for you routier that list took some doing.

True True Well Done Routier

Depends whether you are looking for international work or irish only. The list given above must be from the golden pages or somewhere as therte are names like victor tracey ( forwareder) etc… I have worked for nolan in new ross a good while ago. not all as bad as you here. if you pm me with your requirementsie national or international, by the way also depends if your lookin fridge or curtainsider work, walton is all fridges while brian kehoe does alot of euroliners to continent with containers and tankers in ireland.

Hello every one, just got back, been away a day or to. Working my way through the list Routier supplied, filled out a couple of online applications, so i’ll be chasing them up in the next day or so, of course i’ll have to take a trip across, with out the wife and kids, to get the lay of the land, and to scout out the nite life, which i’m sure will be just fine  , also property, which i’m sure won’t be cheap, wot with that celtic tiger on the gallop, mind you i could do a lot of that on he net, more time for the dog track

If you’re looking for property in Ireland have a look at www.myhome.ie It’s probably the quickest way of getting an idea of what’s going on. Lots of connections with Donegal on the site. I’m from there originally. County most ignored by the State in the country
