Cheers for that blacktop, ever thought of going back mate, don’t you ever miss it? My dad came over when there was nothing at home, but he always said he’d go back, in fact every sat nite when he had the black stuff down him, my uncle Martin playing the penny whistle in the kitchen, us kids used to love it, but i think they had it harder then, had to come over for work. Since he went back its taken years off him, 80 odd he is, and still gets out to the pub and dog track, good on him.

Oh man not a problem. “originally from” doesn’t have the same ring to it if it oly refers to about 300 miles. I’m not gonna be of much help as not a trucker but feel free to PM me if you have anyhing I can help you out with. The way the Irish economy is at the moment and the differences in the have and have-nots increasing all the time it’s an easy country to moan about, but I’d never live anywhere else!! 
The one to try is Walton’s Kilkenny I know of a few drivers there and the fleet is kept up to date and well maintained. The work is clean and they try their best to keep you somewhere near your hour’s. but don’t expect a 48 hour week WTD don’t exist
Have you tried any of the supermarket hauliers i.e. SuperValu, Centra, Tesco;s Ireland also there are various dairy company’s around i.e Kerry Group (based allover) DairyGold and Dawn group, I believe some of the Dairy Companys may be owner-driver (if this is something you have or may be considering)
I’m more than sure you will earn just as well on this than doing Nolan or Breens work etc. . .

Any luck fuelpump ? Brian Kehoe had an ad in local paper a few months ago lookin pilots, jobs all filled there now though I think. Lanigan International have an ad in evening herald today lookin drivers. Walton had an ad on fas website lately too. Ballinalard seem to have a constant ad on nixers.com.
