Mount Sorrell Tippers

The third picture is Lee’s old truck.
Breedy.

Good to see those Kinch pics.
Remember seeing Keith around regularly, think he was about the only Kinch driver who personalised his wagon.

Be great to see some more if you have them.

I hope Selby’s new Renault is in their colours or has it had to be finished in Lafarge white?

I ran up past Sorrell the other day and saw Derek Wheatley’s lafarge white Volvo, have his maroon Alphas all gone?

Cheers
Mark

Yes mate that’s right, it’s Geoff, Pete and Lee.
I will go round the yard soon and get some pictures.
Breedy.

Came across this pic the other day.
Judging by the body I would imagine it did a bit of coal when the pit was quiet.

Great shot!

This looks like it was outside Cossington Commercials??

Like the Leicester Heavy unit in the background!

Does anyone remember (or have a scan of) the test match from Truck magazine circa 1985 featuring a Kinch’s C series 8-legger versus a Foden factory demo wagon?

Great pic… :sunglasses: .
Love the Leicester Heavy Haulage ERF in the background

Im pretty sure that the pic was taken outside Cossingtons, I think it was an ERF publicity shot.
Unfortunately dont have any of the Leic HH unit.

Unsuprisingly, I do have a copy of the Test Match from Truck where the Kinch ERF murdered the Cat powered Foden.
I will dig it out and scan it in in the next few days.

I can remember Kinch operating the C series ERFs does anybody know how many they had and what did they operate in earlier years.

cheers
Mark

couple more for you, the Constuctor was the first wagon on the weighbridge in the morning for 4 years :stuck_out_tongue: the Scania’s last day with me was in Mountsorrell, it broke down for the last time and i got rid.

Had this emailed to me. Can anyone throw some light on it as to where it could be parked? Don’t know when it was taken but thought I would ask.
And to see if we can keep this thread going…

Hi! Not sure if anyone checks this now! This photo is taken outside Cossington Commercials, after it was taken over by Mercedes. I grew up in that yard and offices, which explains the career choice!! Do you have any more pics from when it was Cossington Commercials? I’m saving some for my Dad, as he turned 65 this year so thought it would be nice to make a memory album for him!
Thanks for the lovely pics, I love looking through them all!

Hi Thanks for the info…
I haven’t been on here for a while (Sorry). I wish I had taken more pics from those days as I don’t seem to have enough. It would of been nice to know when this was taken too but I guess it will remain one of those unanswered questions.
I don’t have any from where your dad worked sorry but happy belated birthday to him.

anyone remember Scotty (Scotts of Sawtry)? he was first on the weighbridge or thereabouts for a few years.his artic tipped over when he was on a job delivering tar chippings…his dog, which was in the cab at the time, refused to go in his new lorry :open_mouth: a lovely chap was Scotty…sadly passed away a few years ago.
