Absolute rubbish! Can’t agree with that. After all what kind of moron would be driving his car through an unfamiliar area and actually turn off a road with a 12 foot bridge ahead whilst his Missus looked at him like he had a screw loose? Not me, that’s for sure.

Bed/wrong side, or joking and a ■■■■■■ big whooosh on my part, … I can’t decide.

Just joshing Rob. I was actually agreeing with your statement that pro’s take notice of bridge heights even when driving their own cars. FYI, I actually did avoid a road with a signed low bridge whilst in my car, but as a man who still sometimes goes for the exhaust brake in his car I suppose it’s to be expected!

I was a bit slow there bud, …well it was Sunday morning.
Sounds like the job has got right inside your head mate.
You’ll be ■■■■■■■ in a bottle next in your own bedroom at home (just don’t be thinking that your wife’s side of the bed is the open driver’s side window, and empty it out while you’re still half sleep
I use my sat nav most of the time when on unfamiliar roads.I often wonder where would we all be if the Yanks turned of the satellite.

I fear a lot of mapbooks would suddenly be sold!

4m height limit, sort out bridge strikes overnight. Job done
wish we would do this. and if not ban all double deck trailers
That’s a bit like chucking out the baby with the bath water .
Wtf for?
…As I said it ain’t the bridges that are the problem, it’s down to driver negligence or incompetence …or both.
It’s like saying widen all tight or blindside bays to make useless drivers able to back in to them, and at the same time ban all extendible trailers as they are even worse to get in.
The answer is educating drivers, most of us have had it drummed in to us about bridges, to the point where we even notice them when driving our cars.
It’s like teaching your kids to look both ways on the road, the older they get it eventually becomes second nature.
And to get back to sat navs, again they are not in themselves the problem. It’s the combination of total sat nav reliance, driver incompetence and a bit of negligence thrown in, that is the biggest recipe for all ■■■■ ups on the road…, especially bridge strikes.
just don’t like them, its a personal thing. I have never hit a bridge but just don’t like them.
the trouble is trying to educate someone who will drive under a bridge because his sat nav says so … well I am sure you get my drift.

 Pete seriously mate, unless you are having a laugh at our expense and you are not entirely serious, I’m genuinely concerned about your state of mind mate. So much bitterness
, calm down man ffs, your rants are getting more and more bizzare, you are starting to become a caricature of yourself.
You know what Pete?..in REAL terms nobody really gives a flying [zb] what you are doing, it’s just banter. You appear to genuinely believe we are all on the edge of our seats and intently wondering what you are doing…sorry mate not so, but hey I ain’t a bitter man, and despite being called a moron (along with everybody else on here
) I wish you luck with it.
However, I still believe by the Ott tone of your posts that you are over compensating and not only trying to convince us that your actions were a bit hasty, but also trying to convince yourself .
A bit of amateur psychology from a moron dcpc holder/sat nav user/auto box user.

dont worry about my mental state my friend as i have always been nuts
of course there is some poking fun in my posts, it might not read like fun though for some
I use an HGV Sat Nav everytime I go out when going to a new location, that’s after checking the drop against Google Maps. It doesn’t stop me remembering the route I have taken though, just saves me grabbing the map I have been given when I am trying to drive.
I have yet to hit a bridge, and I hope to never do so.
I have only had to avoid low bridges twice on my route and that’s when I was not following the Sat Nav route and the bridge warning signs were about 50ft from the bridge !!
If you don’t pay attention to the roads around you it makes no difference whether you are using a Sat Nav or not - you are still a muppet.
I must say though if I took a stand against the DCPC like Desypete (Right on Brother !!) I would not be coming on a Professional Truck Driver’s forum as I would no longer be a Professional Truck Driver

the difference is your not me, you didn’t make a stand against the dcpc so you wouldn’t know why or how someone would come on a drivers forum to remind the so called drivers just what a bunch of cowards they really were when they had a chance to make a difference.
if its good enough for stobart truck fans who wouldnt dream of doing the job but are quite happy having ■■■■■■■ at the pictures of trucks then its good enough for ex truckers who did the job to come on and in a polite manner remind the drivers what the real problem is in the driving game which of course is the drivers themselves.

Polite manner? Calling people thick,■■■■■■,idiots etc etc and insulting anyone who took the cpc with the venom you put in 95% of your posts is POLITE? Well all I can say is id hate to see you being nasty!

i dont use the word ■■■■■■ as retards have more brains
no seriously i never use that word as its offensive, were as moron or thick or idiots are not so offensive, there is no hate or venom attached to my posts it might look as if there is by the nature of the posts but i can assure you there is no hate or venom.
i am not to well educated as gets pointed out by some of the brain dead who can not think of anything to come back at me with other than my lack of grammar, if it wasn’t for spell checker i would be really crushed trying to make a post
so maybe my direct approach is offensive to some but how else do you get the point home to anyone ?
saying please or thank is like wiping your arse with expensive bog rolls compared to using news paper. it might sound good or even smell nice but it doesnt get the job done any better than news paper would
V4olly I don’t find Desypete disagreeable at all, I may disagree with some of what he says but at least he has the courage of his convictions and states his OWN points, you however remind me of that character on the fast show who just agrees with everyone else. Of course there is a subtle difference though, he is quite funny whereas you are simply tedious and lacking in charisma or independent thought or deed. I said when you first reared your pathetic head that if the pain got too much in your empty life then lots and lots of paracetamol could be the answer. I stand by that.

As, I said they other day to someone else (it might have been you, I can’t remember), who suggested I top myself; my response was for them to go and throw themselves into a Crocodile infested river to be dismembered.
That’s how the crocodile can be an important part of the Eco system. Which is; to dispose of scum like you. In that case, it would play a very useful role.
