Most valuable load?

I had a bulker full of scrap metal, don’t know what it was worth but was told it was an urgent load :unamused:

I used to be a bus driver, have you seen the amount 70 people can claim if you crash :open_mouth:

Anyone running a sweep on how long it takes for someone to put
“My new born son/daughtet?”

Pat Hasler:
I once had a load when i worked on FED EX, I collected it from Crick for to go on a ferry in Portsmouth next day. I was told to stick to an exact route and phone if there was the slightest problem, the trailer was sealed and so was the paperwork, I had no idea what was inside, I had a blow out on the M3 and the police came out and sat by the truck till the tyre was changed. I arrived at FED EX Southampton to be parked inside all night and next day to go on to the docks. After dropping the trailer at the dock (again supervised by the law) I was told the trailer contained 20 ton of Channel No5 concentrate, value 17 million.

Not as much as your load but very tempting.

i delivered a similar load to that years ago but managed to blag a bottle before they sealed it,then had a night out at penkridge…i drank the bottle, then the next morning got arrested for being drunk and fragrant…

watermarked paper ( special paper ) bound for a boat that was going somewhere to have some printing done on it the paper that is  from there it was to go to Malta … once printed it was worth Millions

Watermarked paper for the money print.

the other job was taking sick babies all over in specialist incubators that was quite a rewarding job if nothing but emotional at times

Not sure what a MIG25 would have cost new? Certainly wasn’t worth much when I got my hands on it for it’s final sortie to the scrapyard

Early 70s working for a removal firm we moved a guy in a big old iron lung machine from nuneaton hospital to Coventry hospital, 6 police cars an 4 bikes.
Guy in machine was delighted to be going somewhere else.
Made me look at life a tad different way :open_mouth:

I was once asked to take a human heart from Newcastle to Edinburgh and often pick up emergancy hospital operating theatre equipment

what price a human life■■?

probably somewhere around £1-20 a mile??

Martin baker. I’ve seen their stuff go in and out of their place near Aldergrove. The loads I’ve taken can be worth millions. Super cars and racehorses are small fry. Pharma loads and weapons the most valuable. The aircraft alone is worth £239million

Loaded a 40ft reefer container with 14 Pallets of ‘stuff’ (I reckon a 20ft woud’ve done) at Glaxo Smithkline at Barnards Castle, apparently worth £12 million!!!

In the early 90’s I worked for Brinks-Mat out of the Heathrow (yes the one that was hit).
One time the Russians sent over their gold reserve which was 750 million. It was put onto three of our trucks (250 million on each one) and with armed police escorts we drove it all from Heathrow to the Bank of England with each truck talking a different route to get there.

An eleven year old thread resurrection!

Thank god it’s a resurrection. I saw Pat Hasler and thought he was back. Sent shivers down my spine.

Anyway is easter not all about resurrection. And chocolate.

Hahaha, good point.

Most Valuable load ? Every time I take my 2 kids out, priceless, can’t put a value on them… all that other stuff you all move around might be expensive but hey, its insured and can be replaced… my kids can’t be

I had some almond slices that slid of the dash last week. Ended up in the footwell. Still not recovered from the experience.

I think someone needs to go to adding up classes. 2003 to 2015 ain’t 11 years.

It was December 2003, so until December of 2015 it is an 11yr old thread. HTH. [emoji38]

Picked up a Euroliner at the yard today and took it to a high security area near Aldergrove Airport operated by a group called “Martin Bakers”
Guy there looks at my docket and says " you’ve got an aeroplane inside there!!!" Turns out it was an ejector seat simulator for the “Eurofighter” When I opened the curtains it looked just like the front of a jetfighter!!When I pulled back the roof it was lifted out by a crane.Turns out this is the only place in the UK that has a test area.I asked what it was worth and a bossman said £40 million :open_mouth: give or take a pound or two!!! Don’t know weither he was winding me up or not it certainly looked expensive!!!

I bet you wish you’d been told that before you left the yard don’t you…not
