Most miles driven in a day?

In my car i did Manchester to Leeds then to Cardiff then back to Manchester then back to Cardiff

Did 1150km (700+ mile) in 15 long hours in the car from Bologna, Italy back to Minden, Germany straight after England trounced Belgium 1-0 with David Platt’s last kick of extra-time at Italy '90. Included a stop for some zeds in Switzerland though. Gutted we couldn’t stay & get ■■■■ -faced with everyone else, but our OC at the time was a bit of an arse.

2 of us shared 1350km (800+ mile) from BATUS to Victoria BC (including time on the Vancouver ferry) in a 7.5t type van, in convoy behind a blue & white Suffield-Corporation G10 window-licker with pax (yup, some of you might know the one  ) in 22hrs. Long day but what cool scenery!

800 in a truck, 1400 in a car, that took 29 hours though, and have done 6,000 in 8 days, in a van.

I’ve done Redcliff to Vancouver in one hit a ton of times, it’s possible to do it legally in a 13hr drive in a truck, even in the middle of winter.

in the 80"s we used to leave prato in italy and one hit it back to london regular,a diffrent world in those days

I once raced two work mates to the moon, they could only use public transport for the first part of the journey, and for the last they could use a rocket (but they had to carry fishing tackle and a toaster), I just used a Fiat Uno Turbo, took just under 24 hours and I beat them by 4 minutes and was enjoying a cold beer when they arrived. So mine is around the 384,400 km mark, give or take a km or two !!

I would agree with that having once done Monte Belluno to Calais in one hit, did stop for diesel though

In the so called ‘good ole days’ of log books it was a regular occurrence for us to drive from Felixstowe to Dundee in your hours then continue to run up to Aberdeen, tip and reload, run back to Dundee then it was about time to book on again for the leg back to Felixstowe. This was in either a Bedford TK or a Leyland Terrier.
Furthest I have done in a car was from Ipswich to near Elgin to take the wife to her parents then after a cup of tea head off south to Llandulas on the north Wales coast then did six hours on watch taking a ship away from the stone jetty.

in a truck algeciras/st malo 22hr :grimacing:  many years ago

Hammerfest to Oslo, one hit,2400 kms, silly i know but nobody wanted old Fish, that was the problem with fridge work and it was a long time ago,i was younger and not so bright

Same here europleb, only not to London but up to Hull, left on a friday afternoon and was home saturday night,

One hitters were not uncommon in those days, everyone doing a Spain or Italy a week was putting in some big big days to get down and back.

Fridges were even worse, almost every trip was a one hit, no matter how far down you were.

And this was week, week out, not a one off…

Twice, sometimes three times a week in the potato seasons in the 80’s, Penzance - Glasgow - Immingham - Penzance, one hit.
About a 25hr round trip.
And in a Disco & caravan, Tarragona - Grantham, one hit.
In Canada, Winnipeg - Calgary, 1300k’s in 13 hrs.

When i was backpacking around Australia i drove from Mount Isa to Brisbane which is just shy of 1000 miles.Didnt even leave the state! Took me 19-20 hrs i believe, and was absolutely knackard!! Was driving a Holden which was basically a mk2 cavellier. Can’t quite believe it got me round OZ!! Those were the days!
