When they bring in face recognition technology as standard, will it be a crime to rearrange your face?

It’s always been a crime to rearrange someone’s face… :stuck_out_tongue:

From today’s…

Daily Telegraph, written by Andy Marsh chief executive of the college of policing.

In recent months, we have seen cases where officers have been convicted of unconscionable acts, while inapropriate behaviour has been overlooked. It isn’t enough to say this is a case of a few “bad apples”.
The British public does not accept this as a few isolated incidents, but rather sees a service that needs a cultural overhaul to root out misconduct.

I’m not going to quote the entire article because my typing isn’t that good but, I think the gist of it is there and you can all go and buy the paper you bunch of skinflints.

As far as I’m concerned everyone outside my front door is out to get me and sadly, that includes the police. Myself and my family are just one great big cash cow to be ripped off and exploited. The monstrous injustices by the police force over the last 30 years will continue unless there is a sea change from the top to the bottom. The tedious ‘Police car chases across Derbyshire/Yorkshire/Northumberland’ show that it’s all about how fast my un-marked BMW is aginst your stolen Citroen Saxo. The anecdotes here about the complete unwillingness to respond to actual crime reported by the public they claim to protect tells you all you need to know.

For a larf, I’ve provided Crimebodge’s web page. You get an idea of the closed ranks and collusion that today’s police are happy to invest themselves in.

■■■■■■■■ to private plates, expensive rip off IMO. I saved a fortune by changing my name by deed poll for the princely sum of £20 to FJ17 YNO. Work smart, not hard

Oh how I wish that was True.

I once in the office asked a driver for ID as we had to check ID from all driver to confirm they were the driver collecting the load.

His name was Nasty B’stard and when I filled out his details I said no come on really. Then he pulled out his DL.

And yes he had changed his name many years ago by deed poll.

We all had quite a laugh about it.

And a quick Google shows its all true if anyone doubts the authenticity of this story that I have obviously just made up.

No I can confirm as I used to work with him on the coaches. Shortish fells, beard, ear rings, no hair… pleasent guy to speak to aswell.

Aye that’s sounds about right from memory.

Just wondering what the resident plods think about the chains in the bucket and the cones on the neck as a potential insecure load compared with the drop side vans .

It is often whom the police do NOT chase (in order to get to busting you instead) that gets the goat most…

Examples:

Grimey, flashy car plates, deliberately not washed, so APNR cannot read the speeding Break-My-Windows or ‘Mercedes Bent Pimpmobil’… when you get pulled for driving a mere mortal’s old banger that merely “looked dodgy”.

People clearly on their phone/speeding/swerving/running red lights/tailgating - but let alone because they are of colour, look muslimy, or are driving a vehicle with foreign (or illegible…) plates which you are not any of.

People with completely-out headlights, whilst you get pulled for having a side light out…

People who drive under red 'x’s, undertaking, or speeding up the inside as it cones off down to one lane - whilst you get pulled for not letting the VOSA vehicle cut in who’s doing that…

People driving out of pub car parks, clearly half-cut, whilst you get pulled for pulling out of Sainsburys Car Park, having forgotten to pay your dart charge by midnight last night…

“Contractors” who put an illegal wheel clamp on your car for no reason other than “mistaken identity” - whilst you get arrested for cutting the thing off with a welding torch…

Repo Agents who nick your car parked outside someone else’s house, whilst you get arrested for punching his lights out for nicking it… (You’ve just brought the car in good faith from a dealer with all the paperwork)

Feel free to add to this list… There must be more similar examples than there are slang words for the crown jewels in the English Language. :stuck_out_tongue:

A bit heavy handed ?
thesun.co.uk/uncategorized/ … ed-camera/

Maybe…maybe not.
Stupid thing to do by a big lad who then refused to open the door…

Who knows if he was difficult when spoken to?

We have the accused side of events…

I’m sure the coppers may have seen things slightly differently.

Not sure what bearing his being terminally ill has on things. 'Course he did tell them…but people being arrested aren’t always high on the list of ‘people known to tell the truth’

Maybe not heavy handed?
3 Police cars, and 6 coppers rocking up for something as trivial (and ridiculous) as that?.
Wrestling him to the ground? :open_mouth:
Sure he was a bit stupid as you say, but ffs.
I reckon I’d be ‘‘difficult’’ in that scenario also tbh.

There are numerous examples of coppers not bothering their arses to turn up after burglaries and robberies, but yet this merits mob handed arrival. :unamused:

Hmmm…it is an offence though?

As for the nature of the offence, suspects accused of trivial offences never get violent?

This will shock you but jobs are prioritised according to seriousness and work load

If this happened at a quiet time and several callsigns are available they will turn up…many hands make light work
And why should one or two coppers risk injury when you can swamp him.

The tone of the article is deliberately emotive. Perhaps the coppers were complete ■■■■■■■■ perhaps he was.

Whether you think the offence is trivial etc… its still an offence and you run the risk of being locked up
Getting your ■■■■ out cos you think it’s trivial is …irrelevant.

What it does mean is you’re more likely to end up on the floor… and in the paper portraying what a victim you are for breaking the law.

As an aside if I want my 10 year old seeing some truckers hairy arse on the High Street, I’ll give you a shout.
Til then I expect middle aged blokes not to expose their nether regions in public.

I’ll say again…we’ve no idea if this man kicked off…or if they were heavy handed
He’s quite within his rights to ask for an investigation.

Oh yeh… and it has the potential to put him on the ■■■ offenders register.

If he’s been badly treated he deserves redress…but if he’s found guilty he deserves an official sanction…albeit the lowest possible one.

I don’t like speed cameras…not cos of what they do…but because I’d prefer a patrol on the beat but why should operators put up with this?

Most people dislike them cos they’ve been caught.
That is very easy to prevent.

Ok mate,.calm down,.we get it.

Yep, 6 of them certainly told this terminally ill guy with Parkinsons disease and a muscular condition and breathing problems a harsh lesson eh?
There comes a time mate when even coppers can’t defend the indefensible, but as you have proven, they keep on trying. :unamused:

Dear lord… you have one account.

But cos he’s ill it must be true

It isn’t defending the indefensible it’s using logic to state that you have one version of events. … that may or may not be the truth.

Hopefully if she took photos she has a full video of events
Then if they unlawfully used force I hope they get booted.

It’s just I prefer proof…rather than a one sided account to make judgement.

As an aside… he didn’t deny the offence though.

I’m sure this will attract some stereotyped backlash. But I’m open to the idea either party could be in the right here
You? Led by emotion and prejudice

I was referring to 3 posts on the trot to respond to my last one, just thought it was a bit eager.
See thing is mate, I get it that you are going to stick up for the Old Bill, but it’s a bit like me coming on here defending some of the clowns who have managed to blag a Class 1 who constantly give the rest of us a bad name by their ■■■■ poor driving techniques.
I don’t …I condemn them when in the wrong. :bulb:
That is the difference.

A bit eager?

I do enjoy a debate…sorry if that troubles you

Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk

Not at all…it doesn’t. :bulb:

A bit like…nothing like.

There are no established facts here…just a story that you’ve chosen to believe.

I’m not saying the coppers were right.
I wasn’t there and events aren’t established.

If they overreacted and were my old mob I’d have been the first to job them.

I just prefer not to condemn without the facts.

If that bothers you…somehow I’ll cope
