‘‘PUCE’’ …Unless that is some regional slang, you’ve actually got me there mate.
Maybe I’m way off here,.who knows.
I have ‘A’ level English language, and I have never heard of it used as an adjective to describe a person’s state or attitude, but only as a noun…for a colour.
Or is this another Samuel Johnson/Samuel L Jackson moment. [emoji38]

I will fully admit to being wrong if you prove me so.
(Wouldn’t normally bother, but I know how you like to have the LAST word on here…can’t have that. [emoji38] )
Loving the ‘Lord Rob’ btw.
Indeed…puce refers to your colour as you frantically get outraged

Yerss…
I think he’s suggesting it’s an incorrect usage ( bit too metaphorical for him perhaps?). And he’d be right to a degree - but that’s the joy of the English language (which he’s got an A level in apparently)

Are you a bit slow on the uptake or what?
Up until I googled the item I screen shotted, (to check it’s part of speech and alternative definition if any) I was not aware of it’s use as an adjective…as I said.
If you,re going to attempt to have a pop,.at least work stuff out in your mind first., it’ll prevent you from looking silly next time.

Well it would hardly be literal would it…unless I had some kind of tropical disease.
Thanks for pointing out and clarifying that to your mate for me, much obliged.
There is a modicum of intelligence in the Police after all it would seem.

Ah… then I’m not sure what your issue is. Was it simply a walk through talk through of your tortured thought process?
The modicum you refer to probably dropped since I’m not serving now; fortunately it now compensates for you in the trucking fraternity.

([zb] me, it’s like pulling teeth )
Ferrchrissake ANY colour can be used as an adjective - that’s what the whole point of having such words in the language! If you really need to go looking that sort of thing up your A-level must have been in woodwork (but the nice man told you it was English Language to make you feel less of a failure).

commonrail:
And you just know that bloke with the toy policeman’s hat on…standing nose to nose…would have thrashed any one of them, one to one.
Iconic picture.
commonrail:
You can see it,in his eyes.
I’m too young BTW…but 4 of em took my mates brother to renishaw police station, and kicked [zb] out of him
Yeh…I often found the key to physical prowess lay in somebody’s eyes.
I’m guessing the tale about your mates brother originates from your mate or his brother? Some people in such circumstances tend to have a strained relationship with the truth.
What next? The claim that the coppers in the photo are actually military?
