Great work Jimski!
Go on give it another go NMM, I’m just about to start my F12 so have been following your progress with great interest!
I’m going to make a start when I get back off this trip, I need to get a move on as the temperatures are going to be dropping soon and after stinking the house out with paint fumes by spraying in the basement I have been banished to the shed for all the smelly procedures. The paint won’t cure properly in the stupidly cold temperatures we get here, so I’m going to have to come up with a plan to get around that.
I’ve been thinking about colours too, I liked the blue and red, but it did look very German to me, I’m thinking of going Dutch or Scandinavian with the colour scheme this time, as a LWB left ■■■■■■ F12 would probably have been imported from that area, so it adds to the back story. I’m not doing a tribute livery, so I have a free hand, but I want to keep the red, white and blue theme.
What about a red chassis white cab and maybe a blue design on the cab

That’s what I’ve got planned!
Yeah I’m thinking of something along those lines, the roof has to be white, no dark blue up there to trap the heat of the desert sun.
I’m leaning towards a white cab with a blue stripe around the windows, but not going all the way around the cab, sort of like the black bits on the 4 series Scania cab.
I might just go with a blue cab and white roof again, it’s a good look and traditional British. I shall do some drawings and get the felt tips out to see how it will look in the flesh. I may do a few and put them up on here for a vote…
Hello, I hope I’m in the right spot ?
…been redirected by the lads on 24th.Scale truck forum…and I need help.
I have an Italeri 6x4 Merc NG, that I want to change to a 4x2 steel sprung rear axle.
I spent the bank holiday weekend trawling through the internet for suitable photos, but more or less drew a blank.
Has anybody got any pics of the 4x2 rear suspension, or where I can source anything ■■
Cheers !

have to say jimski that model is class love the weathering plus extra detailing i taught it was the real 1 you were doing a model of for a minute great job done, , merc man paint would not do that to a model droping it on the floor would or wind blowing it over would was there any 1 in the shed while you were away, if you use ambroid plastiweld it will go back together,a bit of filler etc never throw anything away lad u’ll always find a use for it,i made a truck + lowloader with a class combine harvester as a load gave it to the customer in a glass case he left my house went down the road,a car pulled out of a driveway in front of him he braked hard case slid along the back floor of van hit the back wall of the van wrecked the trailer broke up the combine and truck 3 weeks later it was back together like new, takes a bit of time and a few prayers lol mercman but can be done,Ron the pic you showed( real truck )has airbag suspension on it,not springs try searching google for mercedes truck suspension in images might find something there,
Ron there’s a thread on this very forum about Mercedes NG/SK, you could find what you’re looking for on there, or ask one of the Merc nerds, I’m sure there will be a brochure somewhere with the relevant pictures.
There’s also a thread on brochures, one bloke has a huge collection of them, so there’s another avenue.
Let us know how you get on too please, I want to do a 1632 with the snorkel air stack in the future, so I’m very interested in your project.
Cheers…I’ll take a look, thanks
Ron have a look at … Kit Forum Service… or M&G mouldings… they would have a resin conversion kit to sort you out. If not exact then very close. If you phone Mick form M&G, he would probably give you the tec advice you need and sell you the parts as well.
Jeff…
Thanks Jeff, that’s another lead…although I don’t mind scratch building if I could find decent photos.
…but Ta!

My 2nd attempt is still in the box, but I’ve got a couple of spare evenings this week, so I’m hoping to get cracking again.
I’ve got my new colour scheme sorted out too, it’ll be like this, but the cream will be white and it won’t be a 111 obviously
