I saw that on Facebook, as I said on there, it’s stunning.

HELP!!!

I’ve painted my new cab and the finish has a sandy texture, I used rattle cans, the grey primer went on smooth and after letting it dry overnight I started on the blue top coat, the first couple of coats went on OK, but the final coat has gone wonky.

There was no dust around and it was a warm day, so I don’t understand why it’s gone like this, but my main concern is what to do about it, do I rub it down with a very fine wet n dry, or is there another way?

Not sure but maybe rub it will 1000 sand paper onto the paint is flat and then respay it had to to the same to the engine

try 1500–2000 wet & dry then wipe down cab with panel wipe or damp cloth, shake the can well ,turn can upside down shake again well, turn can upside down again quick spray to clear out nozel then try respraying cab again build it up with light coats with a pause till paint gets tacky,

ok made a start on the HINO 700 boxvan

Thanks Torun, I think the spots came from the first coat, so I may not have shaken the can well enough, I did spray a rude word on the shed wall before I started on the cab, so the spray was good, if you know what I’m trying to say.

yes i do mercman my wall is full of them but i repaint my spraybooth a lot lol

Hahaha

Whilst we’re on that subject I once painted my drive with asphalt paint (obviously it was her idea, not mine) and being stupid I thought it would be amusing to paint F*** off in big letters so that when the Mrs looked out of the window to check on my progress, she would be left in doubt as to my thoughts on the subject.

It all went to plan, she looked out, saw what I’d done, made a rude gesture in my direction and said she was going shopping and that I better get that covered up before she got back.

So I did, unfortunately the words now had two coats to the rest of the drive’s one and could clearly be seen, I think it took about five coats until it all blended in and her mood never improved much during the process.

Women :exclamation:

This was made from an old Revell Volvo ‘Australia’ kit. Loosely based on a real truck.
Neil.

Hi Neil, whose truck would this Volvo been based on from Brynmawr. My mate is visiting from Nant-y- Glo, there are very few people he doesn’t know from that area.

Hi Mark, I didn’t think you had the patience to do the modeling. Seems as if you are enjoying it though!

Regards Paul.

I can answer both questions Paul.

I believe this is the real thing.

Patience, yeah it seems I’ve acquired some, I’m really enjoying myself, had a busy few weeks, but I’ve been doing the odd bit here and there.

Well spotted, thats the one. I’m not sure that the model looks right without a tilt trailer behind it.
Neil.

It took me ages to scroll through the page that had that photo on, but I knew I’d seen it somewhere before, so you got it right Neil, I recognized it straight away. I must give credit to Mr Neil Jarrold for the photograph.

Would it look better with a tilt behind it? Of course it would, everything looks better pulling a tilt :sunglasses:

Where did you get that photo newmercman

It’s from a Facebook page called “Follow me over” it’s run by Neil Jarrold who has the Euro-wheels website.

Nice one Mark. A cracking picture there, thanks for searching for it. I hadn’t heard of Thomas Brothers of Brynmawr, she wouldn’t of been home much if she was running to the Middle East.

Neil, your model is very good mate.

Regards Paul.
