Sure it be ok, see how they look up against the parts your gonna use primer, but once it’s all put together it should be ok.
Still can’t believe I forgot about primer

Don’t worry about it, if you like the kit you can buy another one later on and have a crack at it again. In a year or so you’ll be happy that you have a kit that you can use for spares or re build into something else.
Most folk get a few years into building, then go back a re build their early stuff.

I’m still.going to finish this model the paints alright
Yeh keep going with it, I didn’t mean chuck it now. There’s no reason it can’t turn out good.
Jeff…
Hopefully is there any thing for taking off glue
I went and got glue today, they ordered two of the F12 models, so my spare shouldn’t be hard to find now
I’ve yet to take it out of the box, helped a friend move today and tonight I have an appointment with Mr Anhauser Busch, tomorrow will be spent with the wife, who tells me she “needs” new togs and a slap up meal, so I won’t be doing anything until tomorrow evening at the earliest.
The suspense is killing me

Not point of rushing it I haven’t looked near it the day just had a nice day to do what I want and am in a very happy mood
First step done! The engine is complete, now my OCD is starting to mess with me, the next stage is to build the chassis and put the engine in. This means the engine will have to be the same colour as the chassis, that’s not a huge issue as a lot of lorries I’ve had have had the engine sprayed along with the chassis, the bit that’s messing with my melon are the filters and belts, they wouldn’t be red (my chosen chassis colour) so do I just spray the lot red and stop trying to run before I can walk, or do I spray the engine before building the chassis and apply the minute touches with a brush?
Edit*
I forged ahead, so all one colour it is
I had to get a pair of tweezers involved in the front axle build, holy ■■■■ that’s fiddly. I now have a rolling chassis, well it would roll if it had wheels, I’m pretty pleased with my efforts so far
Yes very good NNM, good to see you’re having fun.
Give it a couple of days after you painted … then…
Filters and drive belt !!! small paint brush and the right colour of paint, usually Humbrol or any other kind of model enamel will do the job, they come in …
G gloss.
SM semi matte
S satin
M matte
There’s a creamy white matte that’s good for filters and black with a bit of gray mixed in is good for drive belts… Also get a fairly wide brush… mix about 95% thinners and 5% paint Black and gray ) on a bit of baking paper ( greese proof paper ) and wash it over the engine a few days after you painted it. doing the wash should only take a minute or so. you can use the same technique with some rust ( brown ) round the springs, and hangers. The gray/ black wash is also good for the tires… and you can bung in a bit of brown as well if it’s been on the desert…
When you paint the chassis, when the paint’s drying remember to wiggle the steering about to stop it all from sticking together and … put a bit of masking tape round the end of the axles as the clearance for the wheels is a bit tight.
Jeff…
Hey, Always nice to see how patient they have to be to build such things.
Keep on.
Bye Eric,

That’s probably the best way to do it I am painting the engine green
Thanks Jeff, good tips there, I’m going to prime the chassis now and may give it a coat of red later, I’m back trucking tomorrow, so I won’t be getting much more done.
What color are you painting the cab
Royal blue cab, with as close as I can can get to post office red for the chassis.
