MODEL TRUCKS

Jelliot:
I’ve just read on the TMW site that Traplet is going drop the magazine which is a real shame as it was a fantastic publication, however another publishing house is going to is going to take over, with Peter White still at the helm. The other big question is what’s going to happen to the TMW forum. Thousands of people have put millions of bits of very useful information on there over the years, and it has been a fantastic source of information to any one interested in model trucks, it would be a travesty for it just to disappear, especially when there are still so many people interested in the subject.
We still have a few forums going about like the 1 24th Scale Truck Model Forum, and the German one which I still can’t remember the name of. Judging by the geographical diversity of the bloggers on the TMW, it would suggest that the TMW forum is a world leader.
I’m not sure on the technical or political details, but perhaps Trucknet UK could expand this thread to accommodate or host the existing Truck Model World Forum.
It does mention on the TMW forum that the internet side of things is still up in the air and the decision is still to be made, but if they’re pulling he plug on the magazine it wouldn’t make much sense to continue to run the on line side of things…
I hope it turn out well for all involved and something can be sorted out

Jeff…

So tmw May be closely are they going to make a difference site

I’m found more pics of the lagan 143 and now I don’t now earlier to build that or the stateline 143

I think the best way for you to go is an Italeri Scania top line143 kit # 792 if you can get your hands on one. The only alteration would be to chop the chassis to the right wheel base and fit a single axle suspension kit to it, the rear axle that comes in the kit would be fine, but the kit is a 6x2 tag so you would have to change the suspension. Kit Forum Services would have all the stuff for the conversion, or if you can join either Truck Model World Forum or 1/24 scale truck model forum someone would probably give you the right part, plus all the advice you would need.

I still think the Stream Liner chassis would work with the 792 cab.

It might be a good idea to build the trailer first as it is a very simple kit to put together.

There are thousands of trucks out there that you build, and no special order to do it in…

Jeff…

Hay toran do you now how to do outstripping like this

I don’t know what’s going to happen with the TMW forum Irish lorries.

Pin lining is either for the very advanced modeller, or clinically insane. There’s guy that does Scottish fridges and does all the signwriting and pin lining by hand with paint and a very small brush.

Good to see you finally got signed in Gerry top looking models.

I really hope truck model world don’t shutdown I like seeing how these experiences model makers make there models

hey jeff hows thing’s going, yes didn’t realise i had to wait a minute or 2 for forum to load  IRISH LORRIES don’t think it will close still to many people on it,heres hoping it doesn’t do,great forum a lot of good friends on it to, regarding ur pin striping how many models have you built so far ■■? if this is your first forget about doing it yourself,my friend does it for a living using just a pin striping brush he does the old school way of sign writing ,if u look at the 2 143’s i put up the pin striping on these are decals made by my friend cbtransfers.co.uk 2 great men for decals and don’t charge a fortune for top quality decals either,if you are going to try doing as you said masking spraying etc ,as soon as you finish spraying peal of the tape carefully don’t leave it till the paint dries otherwise you’ll pull the pin striping line off,and you’ll leave a bump _ line higher than your decals, regarding the virginia build my friend darren = TIMMY on irish rigs did 1 all ready, and I’m mad busy with customer builds,I’m building a Tcab r620 & tanker trailer at minute heres the other stateline trucks you were asking about

Hay gerry were are them decal man at and thanks for the stateline photos but I’m going to make the lagan 143 it’s just seems like a easier build think I will do stateline when I get use to building models and yes I hope truck model world doesn’t close too its a great website with some great models did you see that American scania 113 that man put some detail in to that.

Beautiful scania and volvo some amount of detail and I love the lights on the scania I can see why people pay you to make them by the way do you know a man In letterkenny co donegal who also sells models
