Yeah sure was mate wasn’t sure if it was you or not we might just be heading the same way one day & get a cuppa in.
sounds like a plan to me mate…
This is my finished Iveco
It was a lot harder to paint once it was complete, luckily the cab looks ok in white.
And this is the Magnum Drawbar Ive started.
The chassis
The cab. It was green but Ive sprayed it blue. Not sure about the colour though.
More pics as I progress with it.
that blues ok mate, dirty it up when your finished, bang some polish plates on to make it look like a proper euro tramper. btw the iveco is spot on for your first build mate. well done…pete
Thanks Pete, the blue reminds me of a Will Betz truck
funny enough i followed a magnum wagon and drag into dover tuesday night. had a blue cab and was on italian plates. will keep my eyes out tomorrow see if i spot another one from the same firm will try to get a picture…pete
For my next project, Im hoping to get a XF Super space, tractor unit and stretch the chassis, to replicate my Daf. Have got a couple of spare bits that will make good chassis extensions, as far as I can see they are spare bits that I dont need on the Magnum. Slightly off topic Pete, Did you know a bloke caled Ian Jones who used to work for Freund, out of Runcorn? He was on there around 18 months ago.
ian jones?, sounds familier. think he had a 105 worked on the tippers before freunds?. as for the chassis for the xf mate. if you go on www.kitformservices.com . click on kfs tq range at the bottom (tq88) is a cnc milled chassis kit for rigids £7.50p mate.
Ill try that then Pete, not sure if he was on tippers before Freunds mate.
whats he doing now?
Last I heard off him, just before Xmas, he was living down London, and driving a lowloader down there doing a lot of rail stuff at night
yeah sounds like the same bloke. he came into our yard not long ago in a daf cf with low loader. always talked about himself in the third person I.E. jonesy didnt like that… good bloke if it the same one…pete
