nice one carl, you got any plans for the emek scania?
tetragaz:
hi robcan i ask where you got the colours for the scania mate
cheers
gaz
Gaz Have sent you a PM
Cheers Rob
pete sadley both models got wrecked when my 2 boys decided to play with em one morning while me and the mrs were still asleep
NOW WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IS GET 2 ITALERI SCANIAS AND GET THE TWO BOYS TO BUILD ONE EACH IF THEY ARE OLD ENOUGH AS A LITTLE COMPETITION…THEN PUT THE MODELS AWAY INCASE OF BREAKAGE.
I HAVE TO PUT MY MODELS AWAY AS MY 4 YEAR OLD SON WOULD MAKE MINCE MEAT OF THEM.
pretty much finished, and for my first time I am quite pleased, although a steadier hand would have been good at times.
Already well into the second project now, suprisingly I have found this to be quite addictive, but a great way of passing the time.
just waiting on some stickers for the side of the trailer and it will be job done. Hope you like it

If that’s your first effort TC, you’ve made a marvellous job Blimey, I know of some modellers who have been doing it for donkeys years and can’t make something like that
Hi,
Does anyone know of any Ford Cargo, or Transcontinental kits (any scale and in any material) available at all?
Thanks, and sorry to go on about Cargo’s
Andy
you used to be able to get a transconti kit from kit form services buy truck model world magazine you can get it from wh smiths you might get one outta there.or go to gaydon classic comercial show in june trucker ash organises a massive model show there and folk are always selling old kits
Andy there is no kit for a Transcon as such, KFS still do a Transcon in what they call a Transkit for around £70. With these Transkits you need a donor kit for the chassis, running gear and transmission, the donor kits recommended are the Italeri Volvo tractor kits FH again these sell for around £25 and are 1/24 scale plastic. The Ford Transkit consists of the cab, interior, fuel tank, air tanks and bumper made from a mixture of Resin and white metal and photoetch parts for badges etc. It also includes glazing and decals and is a superb replica of the real Big Ford. Anyway look at the KFS site www.kitformservices.com under KFS TQ range on the left hand menu, you will see what other kits are for sale too. These kits are not really for the novice builder but the instructions are really good and if you want to have a go then its a great model to build. As I say have a look at the site first and see what I mean. Franky.
I’ve put a couple of pics on of the kit in question, see what you think Andy.
YOU CAN NOW BUY A CHASSIS OFF OF HOWARD @ KFS FOR 8 STH APPROX
OR GET AN OLD RENAULT AND ITS AS FAR AS I KNOW THE SAME TRUCK.
I HAVE ONE OF THE RENAULT TURBO LEADERS,IF YOU CAN GET A RENAULT WITH THE FLAT ROOF BY ITALERI AND WITH A BIT OF JIGGERY POKERY WALAH IT SHOULD TURN INTO A TRANSCON WITHOUTH PAYING 70 FOR THE TRANSKIT
KFS ALSO DO THE F88…
Dave the Renault may be hard to get hold of these days and besides the cab isn’t identical to the Ford which stood higher they had to make these changes to the cab, which was originally the Berliet Premier and later the Renault, because of the bigger ■■■■■■■ engines fitted to the Fords. I made a conversion many moons ago and if the cab is compared to the KFS Ford you can see the difference. I know the Resin kits are expensive when you can buy two plastic ones for the same price but it depends if you want accuracy or not.
Spot the difference Franky.

Well Boss i’m glad to see your putting your spare time to good use as for your first attempt that is one cracking result.
Now get your finger pulled out & get the piccys of the peterbuilt on now that is a fantastic build for a second model
Pssst, TCT quick change your rear markers over before the VOSA man pulls you in and anyone else notices! Great build for a first time though nice and clean too. I prefer these to the glitzy chrome and metallic paint jobs we see these days, well done. Franky

Thanks for the good comments all, I am pretty pleased with it and will get up some pics of the peterbilt that scanspud saw earlier today, I’m even more pleased with that one for my second attempt
right here is my 1/14 scale rc ford aeromax hope you like it i do
Thats a tidy looking model mate!
My latest, something a little different
Hope you like
Ron
nice job axorman
pics of my first attempt are on display earlier in this thread, and these are pics of my second go at model making
very pleased with this effort, much better than the first as I learned a lot, and on the peterbilt the wheels all turn, missed that chance when I made the first.
The first model and trailer are to be given to one of my customers, and I was just waiting on some logo’s etc, and I then found I could buy the decal waterslide paper and after a few hours on the pc managed to make a complete set for one of the MAN’s, and as my son wanted a copy of his lorry, I set about making another identical one for him.
on the second MAN, i have made the twin trucker cb aerials on the mirror arms out of old bits of plastic, and also made the Kelsa low bar and both side bars under the side skirts but utilising the old plastic from the Peterbilt kit.
the trailer has now got the logo’s on and ready to go off to my customer who is looking forward to having this on display. Pigging hell, no one said how addictive this can get
