Mobile phone enforcement camera

Came off m60 today j 21.
At top of slip road at the busy junction
Was a smart car parked on the pavement .
Done up in police colours camera on top…written on side it said
Mobile phone enforcement camera .
Police etc.
Picture of speed camera icon and some web address on it.

Drove past some youngish woman in police uniform was sat in there looking bored .1st time I have ever seen one.

Seen similar round here, but it’s for the council and parking control I think…

Had a Merc actros unit pull alongside me near Bury st Edmunds the other day, proper made me jump when I noticed a strange man looking at me with a camera [emoji23]

In Orwell’s 1984, police helicopters hovver outside peoples’ windows peering in. On the bright side, should the Actros men make any false claims against you, your driver facing camera will clear you, because in addition to filming you, it will be filming them filming you.

What a funny old world.

It moves around the Greater Manchester area and normally at busy junctions where they can OBSERVE driver behaviour.

I think they also issue GFPN for not wearing seatbelt but I’m probably wrong.

Got me two weeks ago just outside Ipswich on A14 for wearing no seatbelt. He went past with camcorder and indicating to me to wear my seatbelt. 20 seconds later cop bike pulled in front and led me to the nearest lay by to give me a ticket

Do people not…

A) Observe things in their mirrors

B) Get suspicious of plain white solo units catching up at a fair rate?

Must be nice to be perfect but as it happens I did see it coming just not the fella with the camera [emoji849]

As soon as put all that mental effort into monitoring the livery and speed of vehicles behind you, while trying to drive and while trying to conduct a call, it would be easier to just behave yourself at the wheel and get a hands-free system.

Using mirrors every few seconds and observing other vehicles… if that’s mental effort then don’t get behind the wheel of a truck…

I’m far from perfect… but I’m naturally suspicious of white solo units that catch me up ever since Central Motorway Group police near me got one

I’m usually quite observant for such incidences but was talking to a fellow driver hands free and was totally oblivious to the merc until i saw him halfway past me with camcorder in hand pointing at me, which just goes to show that driving handsfree is just as dangerous as driving with a phone to the ear. I’ve always said it’s no different. People who say you don’t have full control of Lorry when phone is to ear cos your hand is not on steering wheel are wrong as i only drive with one hand on wheel most of the time anyway

Do keep in mind that a mobile phone conviction could land you a three week vocational holiday courtesy of your friendly TC

in my car iv a fake seatbelt ,just a broom with a black handle stands leaning to the pillar behind front seat so from behind it appears i do have it on .im not sure if this is legal tho i do have a dustpan laying in the footwell, sounds dramatic but i am forgetful

erm…couldnt you just wear the ■■■■ thing?

As I’ve been using the A14 recently and Ive seen the bike cops regularly pulling over trucks, the ones I’ve seen pulled over seem to be those pulling unaccompanied trailers

i do wear it,90% -99% off the time,im not an avoider on purpose , i simply forget time to time thats what it is,busy lives is my excuse -but my radar is now on heightened alert lookout for this white merc cruising the A14 , probably they are doing several forgetful souls each day id wager .few yrs back i was done myself yet i still forget . the day i saw the cop in layby it was about 6.30 am
