Two separate dcpc’s i’m afraid. You’ll have to sit 35 hours pcv dcpc to get it.
Just had a snoop online, did you pay yourself, doing the dual training? Or was it through your company, in which case they will most probably have sent you for lgv only, meaning you’ll need to do another 35 on pcv too.

Since when i have both on mine and was told it covers both you dont need 2 cards.

I just edited my post. Did you do the dual training? I’m guessing the op didn’t. Lgv and pcv dcpc has different expiry dates.

I just did 35hours and was told if you hold pcv and hgv it counts towards both.Just checked my dcpc and both of them expire at the same time.
Then you have the dual one. It’s like an adr, you can do tanks or packages, or tanks and packages together. Anyway, the dcpc isn’t about what you do, it’s about what the provider uploads onto the system

Thats very true some forget you were there at times
The same card for both PSV and LGV, but, there are some modules that are only appropriate for one or the other e.g. they won’t allow a “safe loading” module on a PSV course, or a “looking after your passengers” one toward LGV. So, on your DCPC you may have done one of these restricted modules without realising. Track down JAUPT and ask them, they’ll have a record of your modules and any restrictions, but it’s possible you may have to do an extra 7hr PSV module to get it back I’m afraid.
Did you get the D1 licence by sitting a test in a minibus or by passing a car test before 1997? If the latter then it will have a “not for hire or reward” restriction on it, so the DCPC is not relevant.

No they don’t!!!
Yes they do, click the gov link
The dual dcpc runs to the same date.
Where do some people get their information from, is it not better to post an answer if you really know your facts, instead of using outdated or misinformed facts, and then an argument starts. Some people, rely on the opinions they get on here, but there are a lot of people on here who spout ■■■■■■■■, thinking they know better.

Then you’re agreeing with me. You had dual training so they run to the latter date. But as stand alone training they run to different dates
Pre 97 D1 (101)
OR
Test passed D1
I did my CPC (35 hours) when I was on the coaches, the modules were relevant to both HGV and PCV but when I did my HGV I was told I needed to do CPC again (initial CPC) because the hgv ,entitlement wasn’t on my license at the time.
So i did the CPC again thinking at least I’ll get another 5 years, but oh no!!! the CPC card dates back to when I originally done it, I questioned it and was told you don’t get a shiny new 5 year card and it is correct that it reverts back to my original expiry date, all you get is an extra entitlement on it and they both expire at the same time at the earlier date!!

Couldn’t agree more
I have been running a DCPC Approved centre since it all began and reckon I know the rules by now. If the OP wants an accurate answer, please answer the question-
Do you have a D1 from passing a test
or
Do you have a D1 with a 101 restriction that came with your car licence.
Most (but not all) the answers given so far are inaccurate at best.

So what’s inaccurate about my information? I only ever post facts about rules and regs from .gov websites. Not from rdc waiting room lawyers. I even posted the link to the website.
If you’re a pcv driver, current block expiry is 2018, for lgv drivers it’s 2019. If you have a dual dcpc it’s the latter, but if the op hasn’t done a dual friendly session, he’ll only get the hours for the class he sat. Which is why he probably has it missing, as he may have sat a load security course. He may need 7 hours, he may need 35, but he needs to check his hours online.
But if the government website is wrong/inaccurate then I’ll stand corrected.
A few posts have suggested a ‘safe loading course’ could not be uploaded for a ‘D’ only licence holder and perhaps vice-versa.
Can anyone point me to official information confirming this? Because if it is true - DVSA have an almighty problem with their recording and evidence system as it does not check what licence is held or what the course is approved for. I can upload a safe loading course onto a bus drivers licence - no problems, the system allows it. Or vice-versa.
If the OP would confirm the answer to my earlier question I can give an accurate reply - however for anyone on here who has a D1 or D1E on their licence but with a 101 restriction in column 12 (Not for hire or reward) - simply email the DVSA and ask for acquired rights to be added to your D1 category. They will then send you a new DQC card with all D and C categories on the back. Simple.
They will also reply by email and inform you that although acquired rights have been added and all future DCPC courses will count for both D and C that does not mean the 101 restriction has been removed from their licence and they must be careful what they actually drive commercially.
By doing this - if the licence holder then goes and takes the ‘D’ test - they already have the DCPC for category D and can avoid the inital DCPC or any extra periodic training.
Also - this means ANYONE with a pre January 97 car licence does actually posses acquired rights for cat D and therefore can attend ANY DCPC course whether it is for C or D or BOTH, its just that the Cat D acquired rights are not activated automatically.
