And therein lies the problem. Without government clarification, as I said earlier, it’s down to the training provider to decide what is uploaded. If said provider doesn’t think a load security course applies to a bus driver, then he won’t upload it, surely. And to be fair, if a bus driver sat 5 load security sessions and got the card, it makes a mockery of the system, but there’s nothing new there then

I’ve just taken a look at my card and it covers both HGV and PSV (as they were).
I did 2 x drivers hours, 2 x first aid and 1 x safe loading.
Confusion reigns…basically if a driver is eligible to do 35 hours Periodic Training then ALL Approved training modules will count towards the DQC. I have posted about this before…if a PCV licence holder D1 (minibus) or D (bus/coach) also has at least C1 (7.5 tonne small truck or lorry) entitlement - they can sit in on ANY module, Safe Loading or whatever. Think of it this way…nobody can say that as a full-time coach or bus driver I won’t quit my job and become a 7.5 tonne truck driver next week.
The expiry date on most DQC’s will be September 2019 - whether PCV/LGV or both. This only applies to drivers with acquired rights. If the relevant test was passed after 2008/2009 and Initial DCPC modules 2 & 4 were taken & passed then the expiry dates WILL vary.
Most ‘older’ drivers will hold dual entitlement of some kind as they passed their car test prior to 1997, they got C1 entitlement as a ‘freebie’ - usually until they are 70 years old.
Driver CPC is not just about Class 1 (C+E) drivers…my missus has C1 - so she is eligible to sit on DCPC Periodic Training modules & gain 7 hours towards her 1st DQC.
Clear isn’t it■■? Basically Shep is bang on, as is ROG.
