no

Not unless the milk contains hydroflouric acid.

Ken.

THanks lads that’s what I thought just making sure .

No. But I know why you might ask that question. I believe that milk pouring into a waterway etc is harmful to aquatic life as it can remove the oxygen from their water, therefor killing them. So a spill from a milk tanker might be treated the same as a chemical spill in that respect.

That was my thoughts ,It’s a bulk liquid that could get trapped in drains etc and turn nasty.

It’s also slippery as hell when on the road :open_mouth:

No but just remember there is no baffles in milk transport otherwise you’ll have butter so watch braking

Why is that the case k5, I take it it’s because it’s used only for mik?

For non milk they refit them and remove when milk (i assume last tanker I drove only did milk) but I know milk tankers don’t have baffles otherwise they churn the milk

Makes sence .

No baffles makes the tanks easier to clean out . Most tanks are single compartment tanks although you do get twin pots and a few triple pots about as well .
Always open the manlid before cleaning (C.I.P ) - first step cold flush, second step hot water and chemical detergent , third step ( the dangerous part ) another cold flush . If the tanks not vented properly when the second batch of cold water goes through its at this point that the tank can ■■■■ its self in.

Also double check top hatch is closed and locked I’ve seen a tanker dump 1/2 tone of water on a car when he was made to brake hard at traffic lights  shame it wasn’t a BMW convertible :imp:

Any advise on taking milk abroad ,within eu ?

Sorry ,from uk

are you taking Raw milk or pasteurised milk
if your carrying Raw milk I know your Tacho exempt in the UK

Used to take milk from Northern Ireland to Southern Ireland so crossing a border - never needed any “special” paperwork so cant see UK - EU being any different - but I could be wrong.

Raw .so what would happen at Dover etc?

Only if doing farm collection . Secondary haulage - ie from creamery to creamery comes under tacho law .

don’t think you would export Raw milk as your tacho exempt to get it to a place of pasteurising in a set time (think its 2 hours not sure don’t quote me)
