Microwave

Can you run a cheap £50 microwave through a 600 watt inverter plugged in to a 24v cigar socket without burning the motor down?

I would say no, and that the inverter would need to be capable of producing more power, continuous wattage than what the items you wish to power acually draw, i would say a inverter capable of a 1000 watts or higher output is what you will need, hard wired idealy with an anderson plug and inline fuse

As above ,you will need more than a 600watt inverter, with it being at it’s limit it will more than likely keep tripping the inverter …so 24volts and 600 watts is 25 amps…

hi m8 dont plug anything more than a 300watt inverter into 24v cigarette socket u burn the lot out u need a min 1000watt inverter and wire into batteries with 150 amp fuse in line.pretty easy to do when u get cables made up gd luck

Ok cheers, I’ll do it if I can be arsed. Gotta be better than paying £250 plus for a samsung roadmate.

Apparently you can get a 1200 watt one for £150.

Does anyone know, how much a 1200watt inverter is likely to cost?
