Mecedes Actros Differential problem

Hi im just wondering if anybody knows of any faults with Merc Actros differentials. I ask cos we have one in our fleet which has recently blown the diff, Mercedes are saying it is down to driver error but our driver insists he did not activate the diff lock and never has in which i do beleive him!

I know of one company who have had exactly the same problem and in the end forked out for the repairs after a long battle but they are still refusing out right to pay under warranty.

Any help on this would be appreciated

Our firm runs all Mercs and we have had quite a few Acroses (Actri?). They have a long list of problems but I’m not aware that there have been any with the diffs. In fact I know of one which was driven for a couple of hundred miles with the diff lock on (not by me) and did not appear to have suffered any major damage.
