Fellow drivers…

Thank you for your honest opinions regarding McBurney. I was thinking of working for them, out of the Sandhills depot in Liverpool.

I’ve heard some negative things about the rates, which if I am honest, is really the main factor in looking for a decent pay day, now that I am fairly competent at reversing a full size trailer into position. :blush:

My missus sees loads of McBurneys on her way to work and being a bit of a McBurney groupie, I thought it appropriate to make her fantasies come true…Ha!

But as we all know, the main thing that makes women tick is MONEY.

Therefore I am going to have a look round some places like ASDA, Royal Mail etc until I get my ADR

Nice of you to say so Timmo. Here’s an idea for you though; take a job at Asda (or any other better paying haulier) and with your first weeks wages buy a McBurney uniform and wear it to bed. End result is you have more money and your missus is well happy! You’re welcome. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

Why would they lose deckers under the bridge at maybole? Most of us manage to get a decker through :confused:

well its a bollox of a bridge as its in the middle of a blind bend,you cant really go through without crossing the white line unless you want to take the paint off the box,and best taken with your pal in front on the cb doing his road commander for you and shouting for you just to come through it lit…its bad enough in a normal fridge never mind a decker.plus unless its been changed,then its a different height restriction going north,than south.(work that one out).the bypass route for it is even worse than taking your chance with the oncoming traffic,so charge on as no doubt as always,must make the boat!!!..at least that’s what it was with nfl before mc burneys took the work from them.

would it not kill two birds with one stone by taking your misses down to Birkenhead docks on a Friday night,and let her join the queue of bints knocking on a few mcburney cab doors from the guys taking their 24 off? you can stick to your beancounting job in adsa,and she can come home with your pay increase in her bag.then the both of you can have a frolic on the bed counting all the 50 pence pieces?. you could add some extra charisma into the proceedings by listening to the jonjoe in the background if you want to make it a true paddy trucker scenario. youtube.com/watch?v=yoNNi6NuKbU or just type in jonjoe satnav …for her birthday you can make life easier for her,and buy her a wheelbarrow so she dosent put her back out coming home with all that cash…itl always be in loose change as by your own admission,then mcburnys pay is dung so all the drivers will be skint… :slight_smile:
