I ain’t been with them long but on the whole the jobs ok and is certainly easier than my previous multi drop job but can get a bit boring sitting round for 4 hours at some drops!
However, this camera thing has got me in a bit of a dilemma because I don’t really want to jack the job in but…
Thing is, if a lot of the drivers say to them do it and we walk I wonder what they’d do because they can’t be seen to just back down that easily but then again they can’t really risk losing a load of drivers in one go given how hard we are to come by these days.

they will do it and let you all walk…drivers are 10 a penny,if it saves them ten pence on their insurance,they will do it anyway.as soon as you leave,there will be another bum for the seat.the armchair Vikings will just bend over and take it after your gone,then itl fade into obscurity after a few moans…if that’s the kind of job that suits you,then most likely where you go will be similar unless you start working for a smaller mob,and even they will go the same way sooner or later a the insurance companies will make it easy for them.

I’m assuming (maybe wrongly) that you are saying more truckers use the phone than bus drivers and this justifies this ■■■■■■■■.
Well I don’t phone when driving and I bet you don’t so why should you and me have to potentially face this level of intrusion for a few irresponsible knob heads.
As far as I see it on here, the only ones that are willing to put up with it, (and worse the ones that are even justifying it :open_mouth: ) are the ones that would drive around naked in stilletoes and ■■■■■■ clamps if their bosses told them to. :unamused:

Most of these cameras only record permanently if the “G” force sensor detects a collision and then they only do “X” seconds before and after so all your arse picking finger smelling activities shouldn’t normally get seen. Not all are like this though.

I was with a load of bus drivers on Sunday and they all have them. They didn’t seem much bothered. The boss was saying he"d got up to nearly 50% excess on his “own damage” claims and these cameras saved him a lot of money. The drivers appreciated this as he was making them pay the excess in some cases!! :wink:

I agree it seems over the top but if it solves a problem and you’ve nowt to hide where’s the problem. We"re all on CCTV somewhere most of the day anyway

We’ve had them in the cab of buses for a few years, at 1st was told drivers wouldn’t get disciplined because of these, only used if you get attacked etc, that didn’t last long. :unamused:
