You’re supervisor is a ■■■■. Hope that helps.

I’m struggling to comprehend why the thread has gone any further than this post.

To be fair it appears the OP was well aware of this fact and I wasn’t giving him any new information about the bloke. :stuck_out_tongue:

Phew !! Thank god the manager is a ■■■■ because he lied about what VOSA want. I was panicking at first for the OP when you suggested he was getting him to do an illegal act!!
Turns out your issue is not what the manager wanted but the fact he lied. Turns out he’s not getting him to do an illegal act either.
I’m struggling with the OP’s reasoning for questioning what he’s been told to do to be honest. If i was told i’m getting paid till 12, so book it and i could go home early then you’d just see the soles of my shoes. But he wants to argue the case so he can come back to work earlier than would otherwise be possible if he recorded what they want him to do. Happy to take the pay, not happy to take the requirement that goes with it. So he can get back in a bit earlier and earn a bit more. If the manager had a pair of balls then he’d say…fine, book till ten and your pay ends. You come back at your earliest convinience. But !! I’d imagine that has repercusionss for the rest who are doing the same thing and playing ball. Of course as it appears the OP is hourly paid, and his working hours are monitored through this same system, that he benefits from, he wants to benefit a bit more. I forsee everyone getting their early dart ■■■■■■ up because the OP wants to push the time he can come back into work.

And before anymore of you waffle on about there is no law thats says your paid hours must match your recorded hours. You’re right, there is no such law that says that. But there’s a great big inference when it doesn’t match. And there’s an expectation when you’re hourly paid that it will match. But its a great interesting question that the OP has asked.

I call it how to ■■■■ up a perk. Coffeholic calls it the managers a ■■■■. VOSA won’t be interested unless the laws been broken. The bean counters will wonder why they’re paying drivers for non attendance. Crack on.

It’s not a legal requirement, DVSA couldn’t give a one about when you’re paid up to. The manager should have just told the truth as in its a new company directive, he should have known that, drivers being drivers, they would check to see if it’s a legal requirement. I would ask why the change if the company have never been bothered before.
