Or even any type of beat up ole vehicle âŚ

I sense a familiar feeling. You havenât been trying to get a job as a courier , but non of the companies will give you a start?
No, I had my own vans, and all fully legally insured and maintained, used to do mainly hot shots from North of Scotland to London and thereabouts but couldnât make it pay enough when competing with the cowboys on Shipley, Anyvan and the BBFFâs etc and I wasnât going to lower my rates on the off chance of getting an even more â â â â paying return load home.
raymundo:
There are very very few on this forum who would stoop so low as to admit they only drive a wee van but prefer all and sundry to think they are a super trucker of the highest calibre and Gods gift to the heavy haulage industry but youâre still on the wrong forum, Try Shed 5, MTVan or Codforum (which is nothing whatsoever about fish).
Well I do both and the small one makes more but is harder work than the big one that is easier .
raymundo:
So you havenât then, or have you ?
I mean the proper âlifestyle courierâ who happens to have mislaid his giro but has a beat up ole transit van whoâs prepared to do a few deliveries for Yodel or their ilk who arenât too particular if the right forms of hire an reward insurance, which costs an arm and a leg, are in place ?⌠still trying to decipher your last post as well
I thought it was clear enough.Being based close to London generally means agencies having books full of zb London multidrop work that no one with any sense wants to do.Often interspersed with other delights like scaffolding/shuttering transport and other similar types of zb local building trade delivery work.On that note having had to resort to a period of agency work that reflected my personal experience. While thereâs a big difference between distance or medium distance work that just involves running into London at one end of the job,as opposed to âLondonâ work which means working all day everyday within the awful place. That applies wether itâs a âlifestyle courier van driving jobâ,or driving a 7.5 tonner,or an artic.
So⌠yes or no?

Blimey that doesnât say much for your English comprehension abilities.
Which part of yes more than enough 7.5 tonner London multi drop work and enough to know that Iâd rather pay not to do the job, donât you understand.

I have a few questions for Man and Van drivers in LONDON.
Man and Van drivers? The plural is Men with Ven

On that topic, can you please stop spelling âwhetherâ as âwetherâ, its wrong!
Your persistent incorrect spelling is grating on me!

Give me a chance Iâm still trying to get used to not spelling it the right way as wever.
Fair doâs, I concede, it could have been worseâŚ
Plus I believe you will assimilate the correction!

But this thread has never been about 7.5 tonners, itâs about small vans of 3.5 ton and under, so have you or have you not done it ? A simple yes or no will suffice
just for you as you like smilies

Exactly what is the difference between driving a 7.5 tonner or a van regarding all the types of aggravation in doing that type of job which Iâve described.Bearing in mind as I said the difference between spending all day everyday in the place as opposed to spending most of the time running between there and Scotland.
I bloody give up !!! No difference in allegedly driving a 7.5 ton to a 3.5 ton or smaller van whatsoever. (when in fact a load of difference) I am now going to do a Jeremy Kyle on it and go lay down in a darkened room while plucking up the courage to go blow my â â â â â â brains out
blubber blubber
Arrrgggghhhhhhhhh
I need help badly now as all I asked was have you driven a small van doing the type of work mentioned, yes or no, never thought he might even be breaking the official secrets act by saying he said he had or had not ! FFS

I didnât say no difference whatsoever.I said in regards to the types of aggravation which I described.Like navigating a massive sprawl and maze of streets and roads and direction limitations like no entry,no U turns,no right turns, one way ( inevitably the wrong way ) and cataclysmic traffic levels and mad driving standards and grid lock to match and parking/waiting restrictions etc etc.All of which can really zb up your day.But having only had the luxury of just running into and out of the place to and from Scotland you obviously wouldnât have known that.
Once again, yes or no, have you done van and man work in London? Simple question requiring a one word answer.
I have just came out of the self induced coma and yet again the âfont of all knowledgeâ cannot or refuses to answer a simple question !! Carryfast donât you know that you shouldnât dig faster than you can climb ?
