Hello
I have a few questions for Man and Van drivers in LONDON. It would be really helpful if you could answer them.
How many jobs on average do you get on a daily basis?
Do you mostly deal with full house removals or delivery of large goods?
What can one expect to earn as a man and van driver per annum?
Any understanding of how many man and van drivers there are in London?
Are you self employed or do you work with a company who send you jobs?
Any elaboration on the questions above would be great.
Picked the wrong forum mate you need ford transit.org forum
You are not suited to that kind of work my friend.
You use capital letters, you can spell, and you structured your post. You also come across as polite and capable of using more than two syllables.
do you really believe a man and van guy is going to tell you anything,if he is established he will see you as competition and wont tell you anything on the questions you ask

From what I’ve seen and heard, the market is flooded with people doing this, particularly when the building and associated trades are in a downturn, where people who were previously using a van for that start offering themselves out as a “man and van service”.
If you do go ahead and set up in this, I recommend you get all the proper insurances. Although I imagine it would be difficult for most people to make money doing things properly, as the cowboys who are at it will undercut you to get the work as they don’t have all the same costs (such as correct Goods in Transit insurance).
Goods in Transit is cheap enough but virtually worthless in the event of a claim, it’s the ‘for hire & reward’ insurance that will ■■■■■■■ you, then the race to the bottom begins !!
That type of driving work is only suitable for someone who is intent on spending their kids inheritance, it’ shagged !!

Were actually trying to build some stats for our database from a “man and van driver” perspective, so I thought I’d give this forum a try.
There are very very few on this forum who would stoop so low as to admit they only drive a wee van but prefer all and sundry to think they are a super trucker of the highest calibre and Gods gift to the heavy haulage industry but you’re still on the wrong forum, Try Shed 5, MTVan or Codforum (which is nothing whatsoever about fish).
Have you ever done type of work CF, whether it be dedicated courier, multidrop or next day deliveries ?

It’s more a question of the few jobs that didn’t involve London multidrop zb with a 7.5 tonner during the time when I was unfortunate enough to be working for the agency and being equally unfortunate enough to be based in an area where too much of the available work involved doing that type of job.
So you haven’t then, or have you ?
I mean the proper ‘lifestyle courier’ who happens to have mislaid his giro but has a beat up ole transit van who’s prepared to do a few deliveries for Yodel or their ilk who aren’t too particular if the right forms of hire an reward insurance, which costs an arm and a leg, are in place ?
… still trying to decipher your last post as well
Most of the lifestyle couriers I’ve seen seem to use their own cars, not a van, don’t know why Yodel etc think that’s secure when they’re parked up, to have all the parcels piled high in full view on the rear seats and in the boot (nor safe to be driving around like that for that matter) but with the amount of money using these people saves them, I doubt they’re bothered.
