i have to go here mon - fri and back to essex fo a month as from tomoro i gotta leave at 6am they wanted me to leave at 4 i said no kin way as they have given me no notice of change whatsoever , plus side is probably around 1000 a week for 4 weeks as i only on 9 hr 15 shift its gonna cost them dearly 20 an hour OT , do you think i will get this done in my 3x9 and 2 x 10 a week as its been along while since ive done distance on a weekday ,saturdays not a prob but this different ball game with peak traffic etc
I think it is possible but all relying on the state of the M25 …you’d be better leaving at 4 as you’d get round it before the chaos starts

I KNOW but i have refused to do that no way am i starting that early im contracted 10 45 to 2000n and have not been given any written notice so earliest i can start is 6pm its their problem really they have broke employers terms and conditions 7 DAYS IN WRITING OF ANY CHANGES

Wins my vote lol,its the come to a stop in traffic and watch the time dissappear feeling no ta if I can avoid it.
The traffic along the M4 near Bristol won’t be too bad and you miss the worst of it as you’ll move over just pass the M32 for the Severn Bridge, however it will pick up once the schools go back.

Wilkos. My 2 stores are having their deliveries changed in a month the stock will be picked at manton no longer magor. Until then we have been told that we must go and collect from magor and then direct deliver. I think its a pee take. But if it can be done stand too earn nigh on 400 a week OT LOL but thats a big IF other than this i may be quitting tomoro they have been warned told them friday i will trial it !! Got the job on milk tankers if i want it starting sept !!!

The job as described should be much easier traffic wise with a 4am start, and that’s what i’d do on the first couple of days and then adjust to suit how things go.
I’ve for 2 years ( other than 2 months using my car/ week tramping) been doing 1 1/2 hrs apx to pick up a load ,deliver it then back to pick up another load deliver it ( sometimes 3 times ) and back to my depot ,was 10/11 a.m starts ,now midnight- 3 a.m starts when on days ,don’t get any issues with traffic but do with night time diversions ,driving time fine but at times can be long days .
I don’t mind this whilst in there truck,fuel ,time ,but had enough of my car ,fuel ( they paid a allowance ) ,my time ( though they did up guaranteed hours ) etc

But Juddian, you need 7 DAYS NOTICE IN WRITING to change your start time, or are you just another of them bend over and take it types we here so much about on here ?
You are probably one of those who uses you own pen to sign a collection note, when what you should do is refuse ( very popular word on here at the moment ) as your employer has a legal duty to provide you with a writing implement. It wouldn’t surprise me if at some point in your career you’ve meekly done a bit of hand balling as well
