i was thinking that.
surely that can’t be right can it■■?
i can’t believe anyone would drive, tip, and assist in rigging etc for 70 euros a day
unless i’ve read it wrong.
i did abit of tour work in 2006, and the money was alot, lot better than this, and that included your food and drink, on the tour, which was top class.
you helped load/unload as part of the job.
but there were chances too do spots and clicking at shows, which was extra, on top of your wages.
can’t see euromat or kindle rushing off too this.
We have two trucks going on Madge’s tour, the drivers are on £90 a day and £27 night-out money.
However, the OP didn’t mention driving, just rigging etc and if it only involves rigging and stagebuilding etc I suppose the advertised rate is reasonable.
It’s hard work, but as stated, catering is supplied and it’s a good craic, or so I’m told. Bit too much like hard work for old Harry though!
EDIT Just read the thread title and it does mention driving. This being the case, the wage is too low.

'Fraid not ROG, that rate is a golden opportunity for a newbie to learn the ropes though…
I thought the older hands wouldn’t touch it, and now I see they’ve already said so…
I’ve done more of that work than I can shake a stick at, so I won’t be applying cos I don’t need the experience.

I was thinking that if you went back to it then you might feel young again…
… I’m off for a very long walk…
This is the same bloke that has PM’d me telling me that I can’t do Caen to Irun in under 10 hours!!! Have a word with Mark Russel of M&R International, Mr Williams cos you’ll find he makes it to Sunbilla!!!
In the post concerned, I DID say with a good run, I can do it ie no waiting to cross the border etc. I will admit to being one of those that overtakes through the forest when there is nothing coming up behind and that makes a big difference. An example (and Gunner can back me on this) … I sent Gunner Till I Die a text as I passed the Total just after the Cabbage Patch. It was exactly 5pm. Told him I would see him by 7. I pulled in at 645pm. Tis normally a 2 hour run. My unit is ‘quick’

Wasn’t me who PM’d you, but I personally do Caen to Castets in 9 hours 45 minutes every time and Castets is more than an hour from Irun.
For me anyway. YMMV.
40 on production, 4 advanced systems of 15 trucks on each, a total of 100 trucks approx- A lot of double drives(even triple) even Edwins boys dont want to get involved, we could have had 4 or 5 on it but its gonna be hassle!

Certainly sounds it… tis not for me, I must admit.

Never said it was you, Harry… open yer eyes, lolol I have always reckoned on 9’45" to Castets too … tis just that this unit pulls like a train and goes like one too.

I heard 53 trucks in total on the tour, with four leapfrogging stages. I took some staging to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff last week for the ten day rehearsal.
EST keep going on and on at me to do it but I just won’t!

I know, I was just saying that for the other people on here.
As always Harry on tours that size & with loads of double drives it aint gonna be fun!
Got the delights of George Micheal for Edwins instead, 6 trucks-easy!

Whatever tour you do, it’s always going to be better than taking 26 pallets to Tesco!

Maybe Caen to “Sunbilla” once!!! in 10 hours with a numbered up motor, Not everytime, no way!
I’m not buying it.
