I’m starting to wish i’d of made this a poll post. Some negativity, but all in all i think a positive response.
To be fair there are not so many negative vibes.
By the time Happy Keith had done his risk assessment he would have crapped himself anyway

i carry an onion jar that i use to pee into when i am in need
That made me cry reading that
Well after reading all this posts replies and the replies to Valhallas post, i’m as convinced as ever that having ones own W.C. is a good idea. It’s not going to suit everyone, but it would suit me just fine.
Sorry dudes, but snapping one off in my cab is a huge NO from me.
Chemical bogs SMELL, there’s not enough room in UK spec cabs and there’s something faintly ■■■■■■ disgusting about having a babba in an enclosed space and then sleeping next to it!
You guys can take a crap wherever you want but it’s the BUMPER DUMPER for me!
Chemical bogs SMELL
Errr they might do but the subject was Cassette Toilets which work differently.
If you want to sleep a couple of feet away from one of your ■■■’s then be my guest matey…cassette bogs also smell, how do you think they work? They’re a chemical bog with a removable cassette full of ■■■ ■■■ in them (it’s the same thing)…DUUUURRRRRR!
(the author, Shrek, knows this due to being forced to grow up in a series of caravans etc etc etc. I have recently used a motorhome with a “cassette” toilet in it which smelled remarkably reminiscent of the caravans etc etc etc and had exactly the same chemical stuff in it, the only difference being that the crapola is easier to pour down a sewer).
Don’t take offence old boy, but there’s no way I’d want to even get into a cab fitted with a “gary glitter” under the passenger seat, let alone live in it for a week!
Fair comment Shrek, but to be fair i would only use one out of need cos i couldn’t make it to the right facilities. Like yr bumper dumper mate, but you would only use that if you really had too.
And any way, MY ■■■ DON’T STINK! SO THERE!
Im just not sure they would let you use one of these in Knightsbridge.
How big are these cassette toilets cos I have just had a morning turn out and probably need an 8 track

I disagree, Chemical loo and Cassette loo work different, but you being a caravan expert know that already.
I have a cassette loo in my caravan and it don’t stink, so dunno where you get that from. Are you sure you know what you’re talking about ?
And if you have no intention of emptying it or using properly with both chemicals with the water then I spect it would stink.
I also suspect most people would only use one fitted when there was no alternative and would also empty it at the earliest opportunity.
Also it would obviously only be any good if you have a motor to yourself.
I would admit it wouldn’t be any good in a tonka toy no.
Edit > Anyway I shouldn’t worry as its very unlikely to happen and even if it did the biggest problem will be finding somewhere to empty it. As I can’t see MSA’s and Truckstops providng the facilities.
If i ain’t near a toilet, i do as the bears do!! But of course i don’t leave litter, I.E Bog roll.
Anyway…i do my damnedest to park up where there are facility’s.
I’m with Shrek…no way would i be snappin one off in the cab.

…and in continuing fairness those against have not insignificant considerations regarding welfare & health awareness for all concerned.

Easy-peasy: Latex gloves and no food/drink storage/consumption in the office for me …leaving others free to work next to a swill of body-waste if it floats their, er …boats/turds.
I’d pity the garage lads though…
Next…
Will these bogs be allright when the cab gets tipped up in workshops?
Might need to clean the screen after a service
Go on any train in India, go the the toilet and you’ll see the solution, there’s no system as such just a bog with a hole in the floor, the simple ideas are always the best, saves on emptying times as well

They tried the same system on aeroplanes but they got too many complaints
T’is funny how this thread has come up…
My truck has under bunk access to one of the outside lockers.
Recently me and our kid were talking of the possibility of putting a ‘portaloo’ in that locker. Dead simple, lift bunk to use, open locker at a later point, to remove cassette.
So far I’ve not got round to putting it in, but the idea is there.
Damned good idea methinks
Well i’m afraid i still think it’s the way to GO!
At the end of the day, not all optional extras fitted in trucks suit all people. For instance, coffee makers fitted in volvos and scanias? I’d never want one. But yr own W.C? Yes please.

Good point,. Best to remove the cassette and drain off some of the water tank.
i cant see how it can be a bad idea , like you said it wont suit all , but their has to be a market for that … it would get my backing …

I did actually say in an earlier post that the complete unit would be removable to allow each driver to fit their own unit so yr unit is not shared with all and sundry.
