Should the news stop reporting about it also?
Think you are being over the top. Its not disrespectful to speculate, its disrespectful to accuse…

No - We do NOT live in Russia.
I’ve scooted over a couple of posts in this thread but just want to say. The police have to arrest the HGV driver as looking at the pics and without knowing anything else just because he looks like he has failed to stop no matter what the minibus has done and smashed into the rear end of the bus. He has clearly hit the rear off side of the minibus with the nearside of the cab. No doubt how that happened will be found out but arresting smeone doesn’t quite mean that they know what has happened. There obviously hasn’t been a queue as there would have been plenty more vehicles involved. Also, I saw a post saying that the minibus could have stopped thinking he was in the wrong lane (from the 4 to the 3 lane bit) but the bus is way past the split, to get to the place where the tyre marks are doing hardly any speed would have been about 30 seconds so he can’t have pulled out in front of the truck in that way. Also the trailer which looks like a horse box is a Police screen. The decision was made about 12 months ago to start using them. Some forces have a lot bigger screens than that one which can stretch to 100 foot. Expect to see them a lot more in the future.
Everyone has their opinion of what happened but it could be anything, it could well be mechanical. Who knows, that’s why the Police have had the motorway closed for over 8 hours. It’s not just clean it up and open it again.
Finally, RIP to the girl who died. No matter whats happened there is a lot of girls and 1 mans lives completely changed from what should have been a good night out and future wedding or a normal days work.
Unfortunately, the standard of driving is going a lot lot worse and it’s so visible how quickly its going worse. I think it’s time to start educating everyone who wants to continue to drive every 5 years, not just truckers and coach drivers. Although the drivers in this instance could well have been trained more than your average person, a terrible accident has still occured.

And lets all try to remember it can happen so easily. These sort of accidents should make us think but unfortunately you still get the ones that think it will never happen to them.
RIP.
As to the speculation, I bet it didn’t have anything to do with the minibus having apparent mechanical problems prior to the crash and belching out loads of smoke !!!
Sorry gezt & others.
Just pure speculation.
Thanks for the response, Mods.

Next time a car driver is at fault lets try to do the same.It should work both ways but rarely does on this forum.
I would very much like to know what has happened to the driver of the bus.

That impact isn’t a trucker driving too close. Thats a impact between something practically stationary and something moving at full speed.Wonder if the mini bus slowed down and was going to peel off down the slip road?
If this had have been a stationary traffic situation other vehicles would have been involved. Something caused the mini bus to grind to a halt and the driver of the Farmfoods not to notice it
The answer is probably contained in the position and angle of the truck where it’s stopped. It seems to have been running in lane 2 before the accident.
When you look at the arial video shot from the helicopter the impact happened in lane 1 after the slip road no doubt at the end of a line of slow traffic, the truck has hit it to the right of full on as the truck attempted to avoid impact by going into lane 2, then the damage to the left front wheel dragged it back in towards lane 1.
you can intemperate any video/overhead shot /passing cam etc.
What you cannot do is the job of the professionalism of the cops.
stop speculating and giving the “professional comments” you are a driver nothing more nothing less,
its a tragedy thats happenened
please let it be sorted by the pro’s not but us steering wheel attendants.
let the dead die,let the injured recovery, let the grieving people grieve.
let the professional lorry driver shut up till the inquest has established the facts and passed it verdict.
OR LET THE KNOWALL KEEP PREACHING HIS WISDOM WITHOUT BEING THERE.

Maybe the whole thing would have been caught on the live CCTV cameras which are at the junction in which case as Gezt says let those who’s job it it get on with sorting out what happened.
Another reason why forward facing camara is good idea could clear the driver of fault should he not be at fault
there is many things that could of happened but give it few days and am sure will come out in the wash
Think about it like this could happen to anyone of us any day so dont be to quick to jump the gun who was at fault
Could be driver got distracted by the females on the bus could be the bus increased its speed and driver went to go back behind it and didnt see the trailer could be the mini bus driver forgot he had a trailer etc there is so many speculations

The bus never had a trailer for about the 20th time
Whats needed on this occasion, is a Dear Stalker Hat, Pipe and Magnifying Glass.
RIP to the dead women, and speedy recovery to all those injured.
Oh and just from time to time, lorry drivers make mistakes, not that I’m speculating in anyway on might’ve what happened, but I accept that we are all human.
