This morning tweeted by north west motorway police. Shut the curtains and the load is secure eh?
I’ve never seen anyone advocate not strapping that type of load in a curtainsider.
The dolavs ? or whatever look as if they were stacked, which would be surprising as you would soon get to a good weight with scaffold fittings. Maybe it’s just the picture angle.
Maybe he was only going a few miles so thought what’s the point. Or his boss said don’t “waste time” strapping it for a few miles, it’s not going anywhere
Left hand bend, drive to the load as well as the road. Simple really.
It may of been strapped but just another case of scaffold tubes banded together but not strapped around same old thing because no one else says owt drivers just strap over and go hoping for the best then the bands burst !

Dealing with scaffolding and formwork was my most hated part of flatbedding… well… dealing with the load came second place to dealing with builders.
“It’s banded, drive, won’t go anywhere”
“We’ve had bigger than that down here”
“What’s the problem, nobody else straps that”
Now that I’m on containers, I can’t imagine having to work for my wages again!

Oh dear ,you’ve joined the lazy club ,that’s one lower than a curtainsider driver there’s no return !
I used to load…
Paviors somewhere along the south coast on a flat and net them over. It took less than 10 minutes to tie a few loose ends and keep it all looking tidy.
Once when I was doing this, Billybigwheels next to me quotes the classic ‘what you doing that for, they won’t go anywhere?’ My standard reply then and to this day was and still is ‘you drive your motor and I’ll drive mine’.
Two weeks later, who’s the other side of a roundabout on the Chichester by-pass with a whole pack on the floor?
yeh i did grin and wave as i went past

I’m guessing that you constantly lurk and post on this forum as a kind of getaway from the contempt that the people you interact daily with hold you in? Well I’ve got news for you, everyone here has the same disdain for you.

Or Billy no mates living at home with his mother in a Norman Bates style
Easy. Just put him on your banned list like I did. I only see the prats post’s if someone else quotes them. If everyone did it, no one would see them.

Cool, as a curtainsider driver does this mean theres a container job on the cards? At least nothing can burst through the curtains.
Good point Peter, now added.

Not sure how you mean by a pointless comment?
In what manner would you quote, yet another lorry driver, causing misery to hundreds, maybe a thousand or so comuters
Just saying?
