Oh dear
It’s them with that slogan on the cab again
I approached this at about 0620, raining lightly with a little mist, one of these stupid ■■■■■ walked out towards lane two of the slip and turned his back toward oncoming traffic to get a more suitable picture either for his insurers or Facebook, brains of a gas fire. Trucks bearing down on him and he was oblivious. No police or H/A on scene at that point. Asking to get knocked down
Still want to drive 6 foot from the lorry in front anyone?
I came past about 7ish, after being sat in a queue, and the Old Bill had just arrived on the scene.
That tanker was well stranded, wonder how they pulled that section out without doing more damage to the unit.
Was the M.way closed during recovery, and how long did it take ■■
Reckon that poor sod who lost the load is out of a job, but just think if that section had landed on top of a car.
He’s a lucky lad, could have been up on a multi manslaughter charge.
I did that stuff for explore for a few years , I didn’t think much to it and that was putting x2 extra 10t straps on each end of it , when I got done at Carlisle I had a a frame on for Dumfries hospital & you could see what the 2xvosa blokes were thinking looking at 2 big pieces of concrete held on by x amount of ratchet straps .
I got such a complex I was passing Hamilton srvs one night , a blood great bang , ■■■■ the compressor has fallen off , so anchored up & got out thinking how the ■■■■ am I going to explain this , only to see the compressor still on the trailer , after a few mins scratching my head I realised I’d had a blow out , thank god
I’m happy now in the knowledge the worst that can happen is a pallet of pop can fall over
When the driver of the white tanker lorry asked the DVSA officer if his tacho should be on break or POA, he was told “nothing’s set in stone”.
Beats the ‘wire through the wheel’ routine!
Agree, lucky no one else was involved.

I think you’re right, and he’s lucky he has concrete evidence to support himself.
Meanwhile whilst this was going on DVSA had a curtain sider pulled in at checkpoint issuing a fine to a driver for not having pallets of tissue paper fully strapped.
It is hard enough to jump through the hoops expected of the job - but square ones?
Stobrats should stick to pulling cans of pop about

its not stobarts or ws side at all.we pull out the same place then put their own straps on when loading with edge protection on.but when ive picked up trls from there i check all the straps they use as ive found a few badly ones ready to let go.plus i put more on and put thick edge protection on.i know a few guys who dont put any extra on or just throw couple on but no protection at all.ive point out the badly damaged straps to the foreman there to.all i can think he did not check enough or put any extra on.

Yep, I also got the jist of it.
Ok the grammar ain’t perfect, but it’s just a forum after all, not an English examination.
looking at the pic then you can imagine, limited to 56…cruise control…bored to tears going so slow…daydreaming, and then " oops" and time to stop dead…you can see where he would be if the rear of the frame was the rear of someones trailer.
imagine it was a bus load of nuns transporting disabled taliban kittens…pure carnage, though it was only a thought…
Very considerate of them though, to pull on to the hard shoulder to minimize disruption to other road users…
When I first saw the photo, I thought it was a photoshop.
How did the Volva run over the concrete frame, without sustaining ANY damage? Front bumper and step intact, no damage to exhaust or adblue tank…
And how did the Volva driver straighten up on the hard shoulder, having carried enough speed to run that far over the concrete obstacle?
