I’m born and bred around 15 miles from Bow Bells and the greatest insult is to be called a……..Cockney/ Londoner.The swear words are fine.

No doubt the Londoners are also deeply and justifiably insulted, too.

Anything north of our ancient capital city (Winchester) is too northern and cold for me.

In my last job was deliving to London every week for over 6 years .anyware from the centre outward to anything from building sites offices factories houses.
Only ever met one person who spoke with a proper cockney accent . Was DPD van delivering to same place as me I said hi and he replied like. A proper Londoner even called me a geezer
I used to work for an Essex firm with all the ‘‘Essex boys’‘ my truck based at home…
The north south divide thing kicked in at first between us but tbf we did eventually all got on well ….even with the Arsenal fans.
