Not quite sure how he managed that. (The hgv driver)
From what I can make out it was a rolling road stop so should of been going fairly slow.

small update

One witness told MailOnline: ‘I was driving along at around 6.21am when a woman started climbing a gantry. A police officer on a motorbike swerved to try to stop her and collided with a lorry, which then crashed into another lorry. I stopped to check if the police officer was alright. They arrested the woman before she could get on to the gantry’.

Looks like a scene from the keystone cops

Hope the insurance companies sue her for the damages as well as the police throw the book at her.

This is…

The worst kind of PR for them. Their actions have directly impacted other people’s safety.

Indefensible.

As for suing her, she’s either filthy rich on daddy’s money or, poorer than a Mongolian yak farmer. Either way, I doubt she’ll ever cough up.

Not just that, and I hope it’s the case, but now ine of “their own” has been impacted by them I hope it inspires our constabulary to grow some balls and deal extremely harshly with these people.

Edit: There’d zero remorse from them anyway juststopoil.org/2022/11/09/stat … -november/

sadly i doubt it far more likely that they will target lorries

The financial losses must be in the millions. Cost of drivers getting stuck, overtime wages, lost revenue etc.

Can haulage firms point blank refuse to deliver anywhere that goes on the M25? That way when supermarkets, pubs, restaurants can’t get their goods, it can be blamed on the protesters. Give it two days and London and the inside of the M25 would be on it’s knees.

Hears what the haulage industry should be saying;

Dear Mayor of London/Departmen of Transport,

With immediate effect, we shall not be delivering goods to anywhere within the M25, as we cannot guarantee that our drivers won’t get stuck there.

We cannot afford the huge financial losses , including overtime and over night stays due to drivers going over hours.

We are also concerned for the welfare of our drivers, including comfort breaks, meal breaks and our unions have raised this concern as a matter of urgency.
However we will re-consider this if you can guarantee to reimburse us for any losses due to ‘Just stop oil’

Regards,

Haulage industry.

Sounds good apart from the “overnight stays” bit. Where the frec are they going to park?

we have several stores in Londonistan and further south…has become a nightmare for the drivers on those routes. the lad who had Dartford and Catford stores today ended up bringing the Catford delivery back, and some collections aren’t being picked up either :smiling_imp:

We’re having issues trunking into Dagenham and Snodland. Dagenham isn’t so bad but trying to get to/from Snodland is almost impossible while they’re ongoing. Too one guy nine hours to get there today (normally takes about 2h45m).

I’ve avoided those routes all week, tomorrow is my last shift, you know how it goes

Oh dear, Catford will be short in that particular store then.

So surely the solution is haulage firms tell the government that they are not prepared to deliver in London with what’s going on?

Nothing will happen until deliveries actually stop. That’s the only thing that’ll sink in to these gits.

Well looks like day 4 , just looked at traffic England site and the map of the M25 is a mass of red triangles and black lines

Took me 4.5 hours to do Luton to Lewes on Wednesday :imp: :imp:

It’s all about the oil apparently.

WTF is that?

What does the M25 and inside of it have to do with the mayor of London ?.

That is the way to do it just stop the deliveries ,be sorted in 24 hours so long as haulage continue to stand on the motorways nothing will get done
