M25 Dartford

when will they just get rid of the tolls.

Never it makes to much money

Is this a serious question?

Why would you sell a circus act if its making you lots of money

This may surprise you but I read just the other day that they are going to do away with the
barriers eventually.

The new scheme will be an electronic tag system/or pay into an account before or after the event.

The article [i will post it when I can remember where it is] added that euro vehicles will be
picked up by the new ANPR system, so no one will escape.

Fines will be levied to those who don’t pay within a certain time, think it was 48 hrs.

Much like the London CC system.

*****fingermissing beat me to it!!!

The toll booths, tunnels and bridge aren’t on the M25, they are on the A282

i have often wondered this. so is the a13 the official end of the m25, and the start, is j1 after the a282 bit?
so technically speaking, the m25 is not quite a full orbital.

Ends j30 starts j1a

It’s so ‘L’ drivers can still pay tolls!

Also any vehicle that is prohibited from a motorway can cross the thames.

I just wish they could sort out the overhead signs after the Swanscombe entry slip, going clockwise. Thought this would’ve been done after the re-widening work.
Why does the one above lane 2 only have A2 on it, when it is also for the M25. Loads of you must have watched drivers of various vehicles in front of you as you go past the Dartford exit, indicate to come out to lane 3, only to move back in again as they approach the A2 southbound link, where the signs are correct, then carry straight on onto the M25 itself.
Love to be able to take a pic to show you what I mean, but this really infuriates me. :smiling_imp:

I never queue up with the plebs, I come off and go past Bluewater etc

No it starts at junction 2 for the A2

And cyclists can use the tunnel with the crossing patrol driving them through.

Wasn’t there something like £6 million in unpaid charges by foreign trucks on the congestion charge.
Really can’t see how forigen trucks get away with unpaid fines and tickets. In this age of instant communication any unpaid fines should be flagged up at exit ports and trucks should be impounded until they pay.

Yeah, i’m not sure where I got the Euro vehicle bit from…the BBC didn’t mention it.
They still don’t have reciprocity between DVLA and the rest of the EU so I
don’t know how they will handle the foreigners.

[ i’ve highlighted your comments kr79, only because you put them inside my piece]

Yes ans a little further on the exit for the M20 is signed as J3, the same as well for the next junction for swanley/Brands and has been like the for at least 10 years.

Where do you get off? On the A2?
