The black van is not a good sign
Looks unsurvivable! Hope he pulls through.
How comes when ever we hear about an incident involving a truck, there is nearly always an EE involved, weather they be driving a UK truck, or one of there own…
It would appear fedex still have not mastered the art of looking ahead when on a motorway

It…
Reflects the number of foreign trucks over here plying their trade on our roads.

Possibly unfair, pictures seem to indicate Fedex collided with LHD at a slip road or segregated lane? solid line visible.

To me the solid white line indicates hard shoulder not a slip road don’t know the M11 that well as I avoid it like the plague, however the position of Fedex shows he was trying to avoid the lorry in front of him and has not managed to get round him in time and the only reason the EE lorry is over the white line is because Fedex has pushed him there
Good advert for Schmitz fridges barely any damage yet has completely written off a Merc which is not bad for a Schmitz as they are about the weakest fridges on the market
There was a car involved, also.
Tncsi head, did the EE help the motorist, and then stop suddenly, FedEx didn’t react quick enough, happened at 0515.

Regarding Schmitz fridges we are still running 10 year old Schmitz & are in fine fettle would never accuse them of being weak

You wanna weak fridge? Try a Montracon . Just try closing the back doors on anything other than perfectly flat ground and you’ll see what I mean.
Looking at the pic,I think the FedEx ran in to the back of the other lorry, that is just a theory ,I dont think it was done on purpose .
But then to mix it up a bit did the other lorry reverse in to the fedex,if he did then I think it would of been deliberately done,

Another smash involving a flip-flop, this time under the Tees Flyover:

Mmmm, know what you’re on about. Been a bad couple of years in that respect.
Collision avoidance system…
Not fitted?
Not working properly?
Switched off?
Unable to stop the vehicle in the distance given?
Odds on that the FedEx driver nodded off ?
Initial report quoted a car involved, no sign of it in the pics.
Only serious injury was the Fedex driver, so the car’s not sandwiched between them.
Maybe the car forced the front truck to slam on and Fedex was too heavy, or too close cos he was setting up to overtake?
Trailers got a VOR plate on no trailer brakes ?

Looking ahead or maintaining a safe distance? I would suggest the latter looking at the way many drive these days.
