For those that don’t do facebook, basically they are closing until further notice most of the shops in MSA’s, i think 30 are closing.[emoji2959][emoji2959]

I think I’ll wait for an official announcement from M&S rather than rely on Facebook posts…
Nothing about…
It on their website.
Like most things in transport, don’t believe it until you’re actually driving it, it’s fallen off or it’s appeared in your bank account.
Yep i just checked Moto website and the latest update was 24th march…
Great help cheers…[emoji848][emoji848]

Day man, you’ll survive another few hours without grub til you get home
If you’re a tramper you should be out there fully prepared (as pointed out in other threads).
If you’re a day man that’s run out of time (that’s me once a year(ish)) breakfast is the best meal all week.

It would be lovely if we could go shopping ln our days off (usually sat/sun) but at present this is a complete ball-ache and as the wife is working form home she does the shopping on her half day which is thurs pm (just one of us mixing with the unwashed then) this would be ok but for the lack of stock currently in our local supermarket with long enough use by dates…
On a normal week i concur…[emoji106][emoji106]
Now go back to ya beer and ironside you furloughed people.

Absolute disgrace.
Same old same old, Truck drivers, the lifeblood of the country , being treated like lepers once again !
I agree we don’t spend much in the services, probably because of their super inflated prices,
BUT
we are still rolling, serving the country and need available facilities, even if it is an overpriced apple !!!
MAYBE WE SHOULD ALL SEND A MESSAGE TO
Ken McMeikan, chief executive of Moto
And tell him what we really think of his comments
(p.s. I know I live and work in France, but I do deliveries in the UK and I use these services along with colleagues,
so I’m with you British drivers. We have to stand together !!! )
Total disgrace !!!
I am almost certain the Waitrose outlets at Welcome Break have put their prices up since all this started. It was never the cheapest but £4.20 for a sodding BLT at Hartshead Moor the other day
Wouldn’t be so bad if it was a proper sandwich.
You’d hardley consider yourself satisfied on that meagre offering.
Here’s the basic you can read without signing up…

Moto would be best asking Greggs to reopen, lets face it thats what the truckers really want.
There were never going to be queues of drivers at M&S buying their £5 butties & salads, that they normally rely on selling by the bucketload to businessmen on expenses etc. We want pasties & bacon butties.
I agree about greggs but i am , well was [emoji26] quite partial to an M&S chicken & bacon pasta bowl which would last me a few days added to a couple of tortilla wraps…

Moto is a business not a charity.
So I have some sympathy for their position.
I was talking to one of the girls at m&s ferrybridge recently, she said she thought m&s at wetherby was closing and ferrybridge was staying open.
I can’t stand Gregg’s gloop personally, but it would be more use to some if they stayed open.
But, as has been said, you can buy from m&s without interacting with anyone if you are paying with a card.
I sympathise too but would have been nice with all the billions of government bungs being dished out left right & centre at the moment, if maybe the MSA’s got a bit of a bung to keep a basic food & drink facility open for key workers making journeys.
They could dish out free tea & coffee for peanuts, but alas no chance.
I am absolutely disgusted that the infrastructure is being shut down like this.
It has to be time to consider driving to rule, in that we can only drive all the time we have reasonable access to facilities and what I am seeing here is that access being withdrawn through purely commercial considerations and not humane considerations, this surely has to have an affect upon our ability to do our jobs in a secure and healthy and humane way.
I would say that a withdrawal of our services/skills is now reasonable.
Are moto still charging £25+ a night for parking?
Personally we should just stop parking there on nights then.
Park at welcome break or any local estate as.most estates now are empty anyway.
If the vast majority boycotted moto say £25 a night they get say 20 trucks a night that’s £500 a night
