Just the one?
I am just guessing that he has phoned his boss to arrange a deposit for payment and his making his way to a garage/dealer to get one fixed/repaired, or he has a make up mirror on the dash, it could be the doings of Bertie, who has a public image to keep up and stole the mirror to boost his ego.?!!
There are markings and scrapes on the side of the unit, he may have been parked up, and a trailer has taken his mirrors off while he was asleep.
It doesn’t matter if his cab was bummed by a elephant, the simple fact is he’s driving completely blind and relaying on guess work down his offside. Very very dangerous no matter how you dress it up.
Would he possibly have a second man who could look out of the window? Not condoning his actions but he may be running to the nearest dealers?
i have said he is on way to the dealer.
Would most people who slated this driver be pleased if lane 1 was closed for him to have a mirror fitted and there was big tail backs? He could of been a hard up owner driver doing his best to get to safety who knows may be he got off at the services to get someone out to it .

No, nor can I, why do manufacturers even bother fitting pointless things like mirrors and windscreen wipers. A waste of money and weight cleatly

No, no passengers and I seen him just after keele services so don’t think he just trying to get to a safe parking place.
Hiya sammy you have proof you took a photo while driving…you never know who’s looking in on TN. have you got proof the driver wasn’t aloud to go to the next place of safety. did you see the driver, it may have been a copper moving the vehicle to a safe place…one day in the future you may have a bump, someone slipped into you in the snow on a motorway. the copper tells you, you can go to the next service’s its safe there and you can get a brew… now think hard do i sit for 4 or maybe 5 hours waiting for someone to get through the snow to you, or will you drive a couple of miles to the services.
be very careful because someone who dosn’t know the reason your driving to the services may take a photo of you
post it on TN saying you are some kind of unprofessional driver…one day i drove along the M1 motorway the wrong way…
that’s crazy…
John
Hiya… a policeman told me to the M1 was closed
John
I think the damage looks like it occurred prior to joining the motorway. It isn’t ‘maybe this or maybe that’ it’s a dangerous idiot doing something dangerously idiotic. He hasn’t even got a fresnel lens either.
Say he’s driving to the dealers, well what if on the way in a more built up area there’s a right turn and a cyclist comes up his o/s.

he has just passed the services though , so doubt if this is the case
Wasn’t any snow John and he had just driven past a services. Obviously him or his boss was trying to save on the price of a call out which is costly but what would have happened if he had to move over into another lane? There is no way he could’ve done it safely. I never said what country the driver is from or indeed the company so there was no malice to the driver intended, how ever I do think he his a idiot for taking a stupid chance. I just popped the pic up to start a bit of debate going, is that what forums are for?
I knew well when I put it up that I’d have all the heroes telling me that I was so so dangerous for taking a quick snap while driving, that unfortunately goes hand in hand on this site which is a shame really. Wonder did any of these super truckers (if they are truckers at all) ever take a drink of water or scratch there balls while driving?
By the way who’s to say the phone was not in a cradle on my dash? But I forgot that this is trucknet and they know it all, how many accidents have they investigated and apportioned blame onto drivers from reading an article from a newspaper, geniuses.
This is how bad this job as got we all use our mirrors all the time even plodding along on a quiet stretch you still have a look how does he know in the next few miles he might have to pull out for a stranded vehicle or anything else this as really annoyed me that this goes on and fellow truckers support him, what ever the reason for the missing mirror that truck should be stationery end off .

I still think that only [zb] take photos whilst driving tho’…
you cant take a picture whilst driving but can manage to eat sandwiches, pour tea out off your flask, sort out a cd, light cigrettes etc etc…

This bloody forum is getting beyond a joke. You can post anything you like, and all the morons will come out to play and jump down your throat no matter how dangerous the activity you were pointing out in the first place. Fast thinking its time I had another break from this stupid place and its idiots that defend everything, unless you took a pic when driving then they think hanging is too good. Give me [zb] strength, only here would taking picture while driving be the most reckless act a driver can doAww, dont leave. I love this forum, its as good as any comedy show, cheers me up no end when i get home in the mornings.
What would i do if all that was left was sensible people posting honest helpful replies?
